wow i would take them to court over that, the way i see it you dropped your car off in perfect condition and while it was under their care they broke it, they should pay for it. take it to small claims and you should win.

Looks like a 6-7k launch. I have seen it a bunch. Very bad metallurgy on these rearends, even the 04-06s.

He lucked out since it was just the pinion. Most of the time the torsion unit caps break. I have seen several rearends like that i also have a gear that looks just like the picture. Cryogenically treat the housing and the gears before putting it back together. That will help a lot.

Likely, one of those idiots was trying to do a burnout/doughnut and didn't know what they were doing. I'd never trust leaving my S2000 with anyone, even a dealer.
