That is true if it comes to OEM turbo cars, the throttle response and power band is different.
BUT:
The s2000 is a non turbo, hight RPM, high compression car. Add something like garret gt30 to it (like I did so I know what I'm talking about
) and follow me:
We cruise at any gear, any speed, you are next to my turbo s2000 in your magical NA s2000 with a 3000USD tumor...we both floor it...my car is for a second a NA car (same as yours only missing a tumor in the engine bay), same as yours. Keep in mind that I have the same engine, same compression. A second later my car turns into a NA+turbo car having 30% more torque just above anywhere above 3500rpm and your car starts changing into a very small object in my rear-view mirror. And we talk 8psi here... What makes you think a turbo s2000 will " never deliver power like a high RPM NA car can" I still rev 9000rpm, I still have a 11:1 compression ratio so what's wrong with you
That funny shiny piece of JDM bling was half the price of a proper turbo kit and you have no idea how the exit from a corner looks like with this type of turbo set up. I beat NA s2000s in autocross on a 1 minute track by 3-4 seconds!...keep it anywhere above 4500rpm (like if your tumor equipped car would pull hard under that number
) and the power is there in a nanosecond just like the "high RPM NA car"......my father always told me that if you have nothing clever to say, you better shut the %&$ up!

. Its a proven fact that turbos degrade an engine life in the long run. Period, end of story, fact. If you dont believe that then I totally understand where your coming from. You can keep your turbo and keep replacing bullshit parts as they wear over time along with your clutch, PP, flywheel, rear diff, etc, etc, etc. Be my guest
. Honda Japan did not design the F20C or F22C motor with its high compression to be used with any turbo. If they would have it would have been an OEM turbo (AS YOU ALREADY STATED). Honda is not about that. Do some reading and research. If owners with this car feel in a unique position that they need more power (which most of them cant drive the car to its max. potential anyway, as some of you have already stated), then why go turbo? So you can say you have a 1000hp S2000. I would laugh in your face. Honestly who gives a rats ass if your S2000 has 1000hp? I would be more impressed with a Ferrari with stock hp over 600hp and RELIABLE with a WARRANTY! To me turbo s2ks have a FATF attitude going on, on top of that fact that they think they can beat any car. Reality check guys. This is all wishful thinking..
This is a $30000 dollar Honda guys not some rocket Incredible Hulk 1000hp Honda with "over $100,000 under that hood". Ask Brian Spillman all about it
. He should know... Stop hating on this intake and let this man be. He liked it so he bought it and now is giving us feedback. IMO thats more credible than you talking about blowing this guy away on a straight line. Who cares? I dont and I know this owner doesnt.BTW this is a friendly debate. Keep your pantyhose on and dont stray from what I just said..

To prevent that oversight that ASM seems to have missed, guess I will have to now.
Will do next week before I hit TWS.

As of October 15th 2005 there is no Turbo on the planet Earth (regardless of what you think or know or believe) that will last on a high compression engine with long drives (over 3000 miles a week), track events, etc (were talking car engines) over a several years VS that same S2000 with just this intake without touching or fixing a part on your turbo S2K (also your keeping all stock internals).
I don't see what compression ratio has to do with the life of the turbo
(re-check your statement ), but I guess you were trying to talk about the engine life right?I guess you were trying to say that there is no high compression engine that will last with a turbo, not the other way around right?
If that's the case, did I ever say that my engine will last longer or as long as a non turbo F20C? And do I look like I care? My car is 2 years old with only 12k miles on the clock. Cody from Lovefab has over 12k miles on the same set up, so I guess I will be fine for at least another 2 years with my car, since I do 6k miles a year. I can ensure you that I will have plenty of fun auto crossing and tracking my car in this period of time.
High boost on a high compression engine = problems.
That's why people run 100000miles on a SC with 8psi boost for 3 years right?Do you have your own opinion on ANYTHING or you just copy&paste what others say?
I don't give a shit what kinda tuning miracle you think you have over there
Oh no, you broke my
with that comment. Please please give a shit about my tuning, please!
Its a proven fact that turbos degrade an engine life in the long run. Period, end of story, fact.
Tell me something I don't know. How did we come across this one again anyway? I have to repeat my self (cause you do)..did I ever say my engine will last forever with 8psi of boost?
If you don't believe that then I totally understand where your coming from.
WHERE AM I COMING FROM BTW and what the fcuk has it to do with the tumor intake for 3grand?Or with the "power delivery of a hight RPM NA engine"?Are we getting personal here? If so, than I start understanding you as well.
You can keep your turbo and keep replacing bullshit parts..
I can keep it??Great news!!! I make sure that there are no bullshit parts on my car, go check yours.
as they wear over time along with your clutch, PP, flywheel, rear diff, etc, etc, etc. Be my guest

Now really?
Please bring us some more hot backstage news from Honda. Please!
If they would have it would have been an OEM turbo (AS YOU ALREADY STATED). Honda is not about that.
Honda is not about that?
And I was wondering why there is no Honda OEM turbo car
. Now I know that since you took your time to educate me.
Do some reading and research.
Doing it for more than 2 years 6 x 9 hours in a week and getting paid for it.
If owners with this car feel in a unique position that they need more power (which most of them cant drive the car to its max. potential anyway, as some of you have already stated), then why go turbo?
Why?Because it's my car and I can put even 3 leafblower on it if I want? Because I don't like ANY other OEM turbo out there (talking looks and reasonable amount of $$$) so I made my own? Is it ok with you or I better ask the next time I put a turbo on my car?
So you can say you have a 1000hp S2000. I would laugh in your face.
You would wet your pans if I would have one.
Honestly who gives a rats ass if your S2000 has 1000hp?
I do not have 1000hp, never stated I want to make 1000hp and I don't know what you're smoking but it must be some good stuff.Gettin' a lil' off topic here, right?
I would be more impressed with a Ferrari with stock hp over 600hp and RELIABLE with a WARRANTY!
Me too, Ferrari is a nice car. You must be a special guy since you would be more impressed by a 600hp Ferrari than a 30000USD car
It sure takes extra skills. (like if anyone else here would prefer a s2000 instead of a Ferrari
)BTW since when are exotics from Italy (or even non-exotics) reliable?
Stop hating on this intake and let this man be.
I just wanted to find out why he bought it, that's it. Are you his official dick-holder or what?I never ever asked you anything in this thread, it was just your stupid comment on the turbo. That's it...
First you stated that a turbo car will never deliver the power of a NA high rpm car. Now you talk about where I'm from, how you would prefer a Ferrari and how a turbo will not last on this engine ect. Did you sell him that 3grand tumor?
This NA VS FI thing can go on forever. Since I was a small kid, I was fascinated by the term TURBO...now I have one and I am happy to have it in one of the best looking cars EVER made by the human race. It won't take long and oil prices and Greenpeace monkeys will make this sort of engines unacceptable. So I will drive a turbo car and enjoy it as long as I can

I am chilling, I just don't like oversmart people that can accept only their own opinion. I am sure he needs a high pressure radiator hose, those fancy Mugen socks and "feels" the strut bar when he drives his car "on the limit" because only NA drivers are good, turbo guys automatically suck. And a good thing he has that fancy cooling plate, so I can be jealous and hate.Rare JDM part points there!
