4pt... 6pt... 7pt.. its about what gets the ladies in the car... lol jp!

i had a 4pt in my crx, and got into a car accident, someone swiped me from the side quarter panel, helped quite a bit. i would still however consider a 7pt safety 21 cage for the car

For the record...... cusco, harddog, and any custom cage; they all increase your risk of injury in an accident on the street. Just because a cage is NASA or SCCA approved does not make it safe for street driving. They are certified for racing, not sunday cruises. On the street, they are all equally dangerous IMO unless you're wearing a helmet during your daily commute

There are a lot of other things you could spend your money on that "look nice" and wont compromise your safety.

I don't see how people can complain about bashing their heads into the cage during a street accident... it's the same thing if you bashed your head into the window... chances are you're going to hit the air bag on the street... unless you get into a serious accident, in which case you're screwed either way.

How much does a 6 point cage stiffen the car? Is it noticeable?

I believe he was referring to the bars being bolted together, not that they bolted to the car.

I would suggest (as others have) that if safety and track-time is your concern then definitely look for a roll bar. There are a number that work well with the hard top. I personally have the Hard Dog and love it:

Going with a setup like that will open up other track options for you too as the Cusco isn't going to cut the mustard for a number of clubs (it will pass tech in some though).
Nice roll bar . Can you post more pics of your rollbar ? I want to see the connection points .

Thanks
Tolga

When you go to install a roll cage they will match the required specs for the particular event(s) you participate in. The bars will not be to how you want them. Be sure so check the required specs and welding locations of certain events before you jump the gun. Also, please make sure you go to a place that can certify or has certification techs come the the shop for your badge.

The Cusco cage and all those other homo bolt in cages do not pass most spec criteria and look completely retarded, just my two cents on those however.

just a random tidbit. The FIA spec foam padding that WRC or race teams use around their roll cages is in fact to cushion the helmet from the hit.

So if you think about it, if a helmet needs cushioning....
