this rota vs "real wheel" was goes on everytime someone ask. It gets old. I mean, someone posted up saying rotas are crap cause they are replicas. His sig has work s1's or s2's on them. They like damn near CLOSE to the SSR sp1's. Is this a copy? i mean come on, wheels are wheels. There are so many similar looking wheels its not even funny.
i agree, there is always going to be a rota debate no matter what forum your in. i see it everywhere.

lol yea that is my sig w/ the work S1's. and imo the work S1's are totally different than the SSR SP1's.

like i said before different strokes for different folks that it all...

nomatter what you say, ALL COMPANIES copy wheel designs so don't start about Rotas copying other high end companies' designs; therefore lowering the amount of respect they deserve. I have quite a few friends who own rotas and believe me when i say they take a beating. Not one set has leaked air, bent, cracked, or flawed in any way despite the amount of abuse they take. They are superlight (18x7.5 = 18 lbs) cast wheels that are extremely high in quality for the amount of money you pay. I love Rotas even though i dont even own a set. Also, you have to put it in the consumers' perspective. Since the consumers pay significantly less for rotas than other high end wheel brands, it's is quite obvious that they'll treat the rotas with less care than the high end counterpart. Therefore, rotas are more prone to taking abuse and beating than high end jdm wheels. If you think about it, wouldnt you do the exact same thing? i know for sure that if i owned a set of 600 dollar wheels and another set of 2000 dollar wheels, i'd beat on the 600 dollar wheels a lot more and treat it with a lot less care than the 2000 dollar set.

rotas are cheap because they are made cheap - im glad someone posted a picture of broken rota rim.

fearlessfife - "What is wrong with Rotas?? The two cars pictured with Rotas look great.

I suppose you guys are too good to go to Wendy's for a meal too. "
the white ones are the real sw388 and the silverstone are the rotas, not both. they look completely different to me.

i'm taking this seriously because you guys are missing the point, well some of you understand. You say you want to see what Rota's look like on the S2k, just look for S2000's with the popular wheel choices.

I just don't like Rota because they are contributing absolutely nothing to the industry, the companies that actually design and develop these wheels and come up with new technologies are. I'm not telling you shouldn't buy Rotas, by all means do if your heart so desires.

as for tuners copying eachother it has been going on for years, but it goes on at a different level, depending on how you look at it everything evolves from some other product , it is relative, it depends on how you see it. Take the J's hood for example, I don't know why or how J's decided to start selling a hood just like the Mugen hood, there is probably something there that we don't really know, I'm sure Ben from A&J could tell us exactly. but my guess is J's learned that that style of hood worked well on their S2000, i'm sure it works very well as it was developed by Mugen, since J's is a company they want fans of there cars to be able to get all the parts they run on their cars so they realesed their own version of the Mugen hood. that is a guess.

but if you look at it again, J's has also developed and contributed countless products designs etc. to the industry. and so has Mugen, Spoon, Rays, Work, Blitz, Advan (try to compare rotas wheel to Advan's), Buddy Club, HKS, and countless countless others. There are some really fantastic tuners out there.

But is Rota one of them? again it is relative, but to me, not at all. I just went to the grocery store, haha, to me Rota is like the Surefresh, or GreatValue or whatever ^_^ of the tuning industry. They are in this business to make money, take that as you will.

You don't have to agree with my opinion, and I apologize for being a asshole. But please take it into consideration.

I thought i was being somewhat helpful when I mentioned considering Buddy Clubs, I am a huge fan of their wheels, and many can vouche for their quality.

good luck with your S2000, JDM S2000, I hope whatever wheels you choose to get work out well, I'm sure they will

actually high end jdm wheels take alot more of a beating, than a Rota probably ever has, and it isn't just jdm wheels either,

and the person that made the F1 comment, that is almost laughable.

I certainly avoid potholes with my work and volk wheels.. do people do the same with rotas? highly doubt it.

As with all the Rota threads, this isn't solving anything but argument after argument.
