It's because the crowd is getting younger and the car is getting cheaper and cheaper for even more kiddies.
what does that have ANNYYthing to do with tire sizes??
i dont see why people claim how unsafe a stretch is, yes it may be unsafe to an extreme stretch, but you have to look at how many applications stretched tires are run on to realize how common it actually is.
just about every drift car runs a stretched tire. many japanese companies run a 9.5" 235 front and 10.5" 255-65 rear... think about how much of a beating those cars go through and the use of their tires for safety and grip. both stretched setups and both proven to be safe.

Flite's setup looks fine to me. Sinji's looks good because of the nice concave spokes but the stretch is a bit much for my taste.
Personally, I'm not a fan of stretching. Looks retarded to me, in general, when taken to extremes. A bit of it's not bad, I suppose, if you're just driving it on the street...

I just don't understand why stretched tires get bashed SOOO badly. For whatever reason, it really brings out some serious anger and hatred from people. If it was me, I'd be more worried about somebody throwing 50-100 lbs of stereo equipment in the trunk of an S2000, upsetting the handling balance. But, I never see a thread with people going off when somebody posts there latest stereo install, about how gay it looks, and how you lose any respect towards them cause they put some subs and amps in their trunk. As long as you keep the tire widths proportional front to back, at least stretched tires don't upset the handling balance....

i had my brother's Z for about a month.
he lent me his Z with these wheels instead of the nizmo rims.
i hated them and was throughly ashamed to be seen with them.
especially when i took it to the local autocross.

screw "to each his own"!
its damn ugly, its stupid and i hate it and my first impression of anyone who has them is.... i'm wont be getting along with that person.
if you can't afford proper tires to fit your rims, you can't afford those damn rims!! just like the fool who buys a ferrari but cant afford to have it's oil changed.
rims and tires are a packaged pair. you can't have one without the other.
so the excuse of stretching tires on a rim so the wheel can fit on a car is the same as wearing snowboarding socks with dress shoes. they must fit as a package. if one doesn't fit, then they both don't fit. rims are too big for the car. same as the spoiler being too big for the car.
i don't like it. i hate it. when i see it on the road, i loose respect for the car/owner. done

People are acting like you insulted their mother just by putting an oddball tire size on a car
I think that 10 or *maybe* 20mm of undersizing to stop rubbing is ok. But when it gets to the point where you're running a tire that's 50mm's too narrow, it must've crossed your mind at some point that perhaps maybe the rims don't fit on your car.

's me some tire stretch!
