AGREED this car is SEXY as hell from any angle "look wise" but that is where the Sexiness stops.....

There is a local guy with a beautiful white one and the coupe is stunning and price is a bargain at $110k compared to other exotics but.....

I drove one the other day and was surely disappointed! Trust me if any of you drive it you'd be disappointed too.

I think they spent 80% of their money outside and totally sucked up the interior. The E-brake is on the left hand side next to the driver's seat and most of the controls are soo "rubbery". The radio sucks and the craftsmanship leaves MUCH TO BE DESIRED!

Either I'm just too anal or I just expert more from a $100k plus car....

so enjoy the looks and just be glad you don't own one. For $100k there are plenty of nicer cars out there, just none as SEXY look wise!

I really had high hopes for this car...Obviously gorgeous, but that has more to do with Henrik Fisker (who designed the DB9) than Aston Martin...he's no longer there and they haven't really done anything after that...DBS is a bodykitted DB9, The Rapide is 4-dr DB9...They've just been milking his design...We'll see what they come up with in the Vanquish replacement.

You'd think, its just so damn pretty, you gotta love it....until you drive one (especially if you're used to driving an S). Completely uncommunicative steering; heavy feeling; rubbery shifting, plus the exhaust noise is just a valve opening up. I was really disappointed after driving it...I wanted to love it but....I can't even imagine the convertible. 380hp would be great if the car wasn't as sloppy and heavy, but it feels anemic.

Of course there were hopes when rumors surfaced that Aston was going to produce a street legal racing version with carbon this, carbon that, perhaps supercharged...but of course they have to sell cars so they put all their time on the roadster...who knows if they'll ever come out with a performance version.

Now that Prodrive owns them though, perhaps they'll actually get some stones and put out real performance cars.
Here is is:

you can buy it directly from Aston.

Its called Vantage V8 24hr

Includes special painting, race cell, suspension, safety cage etc

Yeah, but it comes with a completely stripped out interior; fire suppression system; complete rollcage; no AC etc... Its really not meant to be a road car...its meant for the well heeled customer who wants to take it to the track...or wants to compete in club racing events...I believe its not street legal.

Closer to what we've been talking about is the Prodrive upgrade package (suspension, extra hp, carbon front lip and rear duckbill spoiler, etc) sold through the dealers and I believe the car still falls under warranty...I believe it ups the hp to around 420 or so... Still...it starts getting very expensive for the performance you get out of it...here's a link:

Still a beautiful car though!

I believe it is the same as the Vantage N24... I don't know if the N24 moniker was used because Aston Martin raced that car at the 24hrs OR that these are indeed two different cars with perhaps different suspension and hp. Needless to say, I believe they are both not street legal and distinctly for racing. From looking at a few specs, the rally seems to have 420bhp while the N24 seems to have the stock 380 (probably because of class rules). But they both are stripped out race cars with fire extinguisher systems and no AC etc...

So again the closest thing we'll get is the Prodrive upgrade package to give the car some attitude. Unless Aston indeed goes through in building a lighterweight, more exotic, more powerful version for the street: a Vantage Type-R, so to speak. They did it with the dB9 and Bond's DBS: essentially the same car but with carbon body panels, wider front and rear fenders, lighter weight, carbon ceramic brakes, large hp increase, specialized interior, etc. Hopefully they'll do this next for the Vantage....someday....once they've made some money selling Vantage roadsters

Before teh Vantage was released I read an article with the guy who was in charge of the car at Aston (at Ford).
He said they would wana make the car match or better out mercedes quality, porsches engines, bmw handling etc.
I thought well, if tehy can do that for that price that would be awesome.

becaus eteh design is one of the most beautiful on the market.

But I read different test in different magazines and also some people I know drove it already and the verent that impresse either.

So its a bit of a shame that they didnt do better in teh end.

The rally Aston IS 100 procent streetlegal in europe!

The 24 (name because of the 24hrs of Nyuerburgring) too almost certain
