yeah, i think i'll go back to the installer and have it move to the dash. i still can't get over how he placed it on the winshield frame without my permission. i have DCI on order so i'll get it moved at same time of install. thanks for the comments. i does suck at it's current location.

I have heard of putting it inside the OEM rear wing, with modification of course.

I get perfect reception unless ofcourse there buildings and such in the way, where antenna location won't matter either way. XM does not use repeaters...it's not land based. When I activated my XM, I read the instructions and didn't even worry about putting the antenna "outside" of the car. I've installed 5 XM radios and all antennas I've put on the dash, not one has had a problem. For the sake of convience I just used a very small piece of velcro, no problems and very very quick install.
