when mine chipped i painted it to match my S, silverstone. looked great for about 1 year but will be re- do it this time with 3 clear coats instead of 1/2'.

I used acetone to take off the paint and this is underneath.

Not sure if it will hold up but it is just the plastic so I am hoping okay.

I think I will try this...gonna order some 3M film that semi matches the 06+ silver radio door..if it doesnt match..I will just go with the CF like you have done.
