Default Rick's extended wind deflector / other brands

I was wondering if the Rick's 7/8 aero screen (or another brand) makes much difference with top-down driving. I searched and found a little bit of info but not too many opinions or descriptions of how much it helped.

I'm mainly concerned with cutting down on turbulence/wind noise while highway driving over 70mph with the top and windows down. I know with the windows up it helps but that looks terribly stupid to me.

It does cut it down for sure. My guess around 15 to 20% reduction, nothing more though.

I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't count on it doing much.

On my old boxster, you could actually feel the wind coming from the gap between the seats when there was no deflector. Hardly any wind with it on. However on the S2k, the wind just comes from everywhere.

I have the one from Js2k and I can say it cuts down on it quite a bit. It was a PITA to install though. I also bought the inserts for my head rests from ricks which I don't really feel a difference from.

this is gonna sound super ghetto, but to test it, take a piece of cardboard and tape it (maybe two layers of cardboard to ensure it doesnt bend) to the existing wind deflector. see if that makes any noticeable difference to you. if not, dont spend the csh. if it does then go for it.

i have a tinted full wind screen. it helps a little, not much though. one issue about it is that it causes reflections in the rear view mirror. So i see an image of what is in front of me in the rear view mirror. it takes getting used to, but i need to fold it down at night if the top is up

I've got one. Helps a little, not a huge amount. Get the 7/8ths one, it looks way better.

And never forget leave it in the down position when raising or lowering your top, or you'll break it.
