when i bought the car back in the winter of 2000, i wanted to go for a test drive but the car wouldnt start so the dealer had to go get jumper cables and when that didnt work, we went to test drive another S2000 on the other side of the lot and when THAT one didnt start either, we went inside to get coffee while the head technicians went out to look at them to figure out what on earth could be causing two brand spanking new cars to die....and that was the day both the dealer and myself learned about the STARTER button!
Since this thread seems to be about stupid embarrassing moments with the S I will admit the most embarrassing one in this thread. Last spring after having to replace the battery in my tractor and Porsche after a hard winter I went to start the S for the first time in a few weeks and it wouldn't crank. Hooked up the jumper cables and it still wouldn't crank and my wife walks over and says "I hate to ask this but you are pushing the button right?" After 2 years of ownership I forgot to push the button and I almost break my finger pushing the dashboard in my other vehicles. The car had been hooked up to the battery maintainer as well so i don't know what the brainfart was about.
