Felt like bumping this back up.

Does anyone know what that wiring harness I located is for? I haven't had time to look at wiring diagrams or anything yet

I think the DRL system is listed in my shop manual for 2000-2003 so that means DRL's were in Canada at least as early as 2003 , maybe even sooner.

All s2000's can have DRL's retrofitted.

The ideal place to tap is in the OEM fusebox just under the driver's side footwell. A simple relay is all that is needed to trigger the lights to turn-on with ignition is activated. For owners who wish to have the DRL's go off with the headlights just need to add one more relay to the circuit.

We have installed many LED DRL systems in s2000's so click on our signature if you want to see more examples!

I was pretty bored this afternoon and figured I would start looking at how to add DRL to my 04 AP2 after seeing s4play's new LED modules. I have searched and found many many "Oh it's too expensive to do it OEM, buy this random module and hack up your harness" posts without any real factual data.

Complicating things however are the fact that I cannot for the life of me find an online Honda dealer for Canada that lists parts (similar to Majestic).

From what I have found however, I am thinking there is a possibility of it working with the following

1) Running Lights/Heated Mirror fuse added to fuse box
-- there is a blank position for it and it is labelled, leads me to believe it is functional
2) RELAY ASSY., RUNNING LIGHT (RZ11-126) (MITSUBA)
-- 38260-S2A-C02 is listed for 2006+ S2000's under the Control Unit (Cabin) section for $52
3) RUNNING LIGHT SUB UNIT
-- 38265-S2A-A01 is listed for 2006+ S2000's under the Control Unit (Cabin) section for $70

While Majestic's/Honda's diagrams are not 100% accurate, they are pretty close to give a relative location of items. #8 and #5

As you can see from that diagram, I *believe* these items are located to the right of the steering column under the dash. I am basing that assumption from the 'hump' for the cluster.

After crawling up underneath the dash and looking in that general area, I located an unused gray electrical connection with ~4 wires going to it. It is taped (blue tape) to another harness that appears to go to the defrost and AC/heat control units. I will try to take a picture of this later. I was hoping a Canadian member could chime in and take a picture of this location for comparative purposes. Given 2004 Canadian S2000's had DRL's standard and Honda neglected to change the fuse box labeling, and has this random connector hanging out in the general vicinity of where I believe the DRL module to be I think there may be a good chance adding these items may work.

Any thoughts and insights are appreciated

Imageshack has tilted the image 90 degrees to the left, the red/gray metal lump is directly below and to the left of the steering wheel.

Have u tried it yet? I think u jst need the fuse n drl module..the subunit would be for06 with drl light on the dash..im assuming..I have the wiring diagrams for 04/05 n 06
Nope, didn't want to invest the money at the time and it went towards other items. If you have the CDM or USDM wiring diagrams that might have what that plug is for I don't mind checking it with my testlight/multimeter.

I did my DRL installation 2 years ago on a US car imported to Canada. It cost no more than $180 including the DRL module, wiring, Relay, fuses, etc. Mine simulates factory, coming on 5 seconds after the key is turned to the ON position, and running the high beams at 90% (again, factory setting).

It is relatively easy to do, just takes some time to do it right and nearly seamless. I did not cut into any factory wires.

Check this site as it is complete and the one I used successfully.

Am I the only one who likes my OEM DRLs? I put some "JDM Yellow" bulbs in them and they glow a classy golden color for DRL.

Default Canadian DRL Relay box

Canadian 2004 Honda S2000 owner here.
My "Running Light Relay" box was labelled with a different number on the box.
After doing some research I found the Honda part number for mine.
Here it is if anyone has the same Running Light module.
Mitsuba RZ-0126 (38260-SM4-C03) -and that's a zero.
The mechanic at Honda called it a "DRL Box" - i couldn't find much under this description but had more success searching "DRL Module" or "DRL Relay". Some people called it a DRL Controller.

hope this helps anyone needing this info.

It's a simple plug and play setup. It just supplies ground to the blue/red wire at the light switch stalk which turns on the HID's. The dashboard stays bright and the parking lights are not affected , nor the interior lights. At night you just turn the light switch on at the stalk and it dims the dashboard and turns on the parking lights. The relay was only the size of a cigarette lighter.
Hello fellow Canadian! Bringing this post back up from 2011. Am working on few things for my imported USDM AP1 to get it safety inspected in B.C.. This solution seems non-invasive and clean. I'm not a wiring expert by any means. Could you elaborate what type of Denso relay, is it a 4-pin relay? So 1 pin to ground, 1 pin to the +12V ignition slot at the underdash fusebox, and 1 pin spliced into the blue/red wire at the light switch stalk? Did you not connect the 4th pin on the relay for a "switch" ?

Thanks for your time
