AP2 LED Tail Lights
I am unsure. I have not driven the car much with them on.
I did have an issue with the seal not sealing properly. If anyone has the same issue, I unscrewed the white colored LED power module and flipped it. This allowed the lights to sit flush against the body of the car, which let the seal serve its purpose.
I also took preventative measures and put 3M marine grade sealant on a tab that was on the bottom under the power module which seemed like water could enter the lights through if it were to pass the seal. In the pictures I had put electrical tape around the plugs but the heat removed those for me. Was trying to cover any opening that water could enter through. haven’t had a decent rainstorm to truly test them. They hold up to running hose water so far.
For those looking to purchase these lights here is how you get them to work properly:
This was done to make work with my 2003 (AP1)
For the turn signals and brake lights- you can cut the cables and splice them properly or take apart the factory clips and move the pins to line up properly. I opted to keep all the factory connectors and avoided cutting cables in case the lights still didn’t work and I had to return the lights. FYI if you put back the factory lights you will need to undo the changes to the factory’s clips.
Turn signals- take apart the factory clip and invert the connectors. There is no way to invert the connector unless you move the actual pins.
Brake lights- take apart the factory clip. Make sure the black from the factory clip is on a pin that makes contact internally with the black cable from the taillight plug. Then, invert red and white (they do not go together). Red with white and white with red.
Reverse light- if it doesn’t work, just invert the plug (no need to mess with the factory clip).
Outer light- if it doesn’t work, same as reverse light, just invert (no need to mess with factory clip).

So when you say the black needs to make contact with the black, do they reroute internally? Externally, the wires look like they are making contact in the correct orientation.
Also, when you say take apart the clip, are you talking about the clip and join the harnesses and the tailights? It doesn't really look like it can be taken apart.

I'm having the same issues as described above. In the video I have the brake lights connected both, the black wire into the black wire on the passenger side. On this side the red and white wires are inverted just like you decribed on your instruction. On the driver side tailight I flipped the connection.

Here are some pics of fitment on my car (driver’s side trunk is messed up, not the light). They fit fine from my opinion. I haven’t had the ring fall out of place on mine, but I barely drive my car (waiting to take it to get painted and install a new front bumper). I don't know the ring falling out of place is an issue caused by rough roads or not. I’ve driven mine on bumpy roads when I was adjusting the ride on my suspension and neither of the rings have come loose on mine. Hopefully I provided some useful
info.
fitment is a lot better after flipping the module outside in (refer to post #91 on this thread)
however, both the turn signals and the O rings at night when u turn on the head light aren’t working. I believe it can be modified to make these two work.
