So i ordered a Berk 70mm Test pipe frmo their st. patricks day special. Only took 3 business days for it to arrive from Cali! Excellent shipping!
First Impressions: The pipe looks pretty Solid! Pretty Lightweight compared to the stock cat. Welds are about 8.5/10 , my only dissapointment here was it was not polished stainless. Came with hardware and gasket like stated, also came with a coupon for another purchase at Berk which was nice, and came with a small Berk sticker. I wish they would have inluded a new donut gasket and spring bolts for the front of the pipe, as my spring bolts were not reusable, but i understand that would drive the cost up so no complaints there.
Installation: This is of course a pretty straight foward install, although on my car, it required torches as the 3 bolts attaching the cat to the catback were so rusted they had to be heated cherry red to loosen up . Fitment was perfect 10/10 as should be expected with a higher end company like Berk. Installed the new gasket and hardware, and located some new hardware for the front of the pipe. Also re-used the origional donut gasket, seemed to seal OK, but i had to play with it a little to get a perfect seal. My only complaint with this portion, is during install, when tightening down the front flange that goes to the header, on mine particularly, to get it tight enough to seal the donut gasket, the ends of the flange started to bend a little bit. Not sure how that will effect it in the long run, and resale value

Test Drive and Final Impressions: So after the work was finished, I cleared my P0420 ( because my cat was bad lol) and started her up! Im still completely stock except for this test pipe, and the exhaust note has noticeably changed, to my liking actually. Its slightly louder, and sounds just a tad more raspy. Took her out and warmed her up and did a couple 1st and 2nd WOT pulls, sounds great, definetely louder than stock, and there seems to be a few extra ponies in there that werent present before according to my butt dyno! Its been about 100 miles now, and no CEL yet, thanks Berk! Looks like a job well done!
