You get through the rpms quicker. Off the line it helps out a lot. I no longer get the bog down feeling at all. It is fast even at 4k rpm's now. I have an AP1 and 4.77 gears.
Don;t expect it to feel like youve gone FI or anything but the 4.77's make a real nice difference. I love the highway now too. 80 MPH I am at 5k rpm's but that makes it real nice when I want to pass without down shifting. I also lowered vtec to 5600 so that helps too.
I would recommend getting gears but just don't expect it to completely blow you away with tons of added power. Does not actually add any power just multiplies the torque through gearing.

correct me if i am wrong, but Nitrous charging injects N2O into the cylinder where it breaks into a combination of nitrogen oxides, nitrogen gas, and oxygen via an exothermic reaction, which itself adds heat and thus power. The oxygen specie generation increases volumetric efficiency and thus power. that seems like forced induction to me... it's all technicalities i guess
To get technical I would say the nitro is "introduced" not "forced. Unless the nitro is force fed under boost pressure then it isn't "forced induction"

Thank you for your response. Will do some research regarding gears now. Happy motoring.
