Also, with the mugen and mugen style intakes, it doesn't sit where the grill is like on the spoon and j's snorkel. It actually sits about where the license plate holes are. reason is mugen says there is supposedly a vortex of air or something behind the bumper that lets it create a lot of suction.

I duno about that, I think its cause its made for the mugen bumper with the cut out.

I have a the mugen replica intake from IPtuned...

- Yes you do need to cut under your hood for clearance.
- no you wont notice the power increase
- yes it does sound really nice, not cheesy like some others.
- And I would recommend it if anything just to solve the heat soak/ bogging problem that I had with MY06 on hot ass days w/ the stock airbox.

all in all awsome intake, but dont spend $600

I have a copy (not the JHP/Carbon8 one but similiarl) I actually like it better than the mugen because the filter is re-useable/cleanable where as the mugen requires buying a new filter when it gets dirty
I'm sorry but that's not correct - Mugen even sell a filter cleaning kit.

Chris.

Are you sure it works with the S2k intake? The filters I have seen did not look like they were cleanable

Hers a pic (sorry I lagged) the cut out when I was running the OEM hood is also pictured
