Default catch can

hey guys, i am looking for a catch can for MY01 as i am now getting into autocrossing a little bit, and also just wanting to keep oil out of my intake manifold. i want to hook up the catch can between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. i found a couple catch cans but im not to familiar with them. i am looking at these two right now. let me know what you think of them and if they are a good choice of not. thanks.

Nice link!

What I was wondering, if you drain the oil, from inside the catchcan, can you re-use it? or throuw it away ?

^Why would you want to reuse it though? Just put new oil in when you drain that. I'm sure it could be used but only a matter of a few bucks at most to replace the oil that was drained with new oil.

You wont want to re-use the oil caught in a catch can once you see it. It comes out as more of a thinned out frothy latte topping looking like something you would get from starbucks. Its a mix of air, oil, fuel vapors, and water. Just dump that goo and add some new. I would look at getting a vent to atmosphere set up as opposed to a return to intake manifold set up. The ebay route on your first link doesnt look good to me. The outlet for the filter to vent the air to the atmosphere only looks like about .5" thats really too small of an outlet to be non restrictive to the escaping air. The good cans use a 1.5" outlet to the filter. Trust me there is a lot more air escaping than you would think. The actual blow by oil takes a while to really accumulate in the can but that of course will very depending on how the can is plumbed, driving habits, engine set up, as well as engine health. Take a look at what Moddiction has to offer. Those boys he works with build some really nice cans. I have his combo can on my car. Moddiction can also build custom cans for very reasonable prices considering the craftsmanship your getting as well as they stand behind what they build and will help you get it plumbed properly based on your wants/needs.
