I found this clear tubing made of polycarbonate. Its really expensive though, maybe they would sell you a piece shorter than the 8' that they list though. If its like plexiglass the end you cut with a saw can be quickly melted with a torch and will return to being clear as if you never touched it.

And i was complaining about the $40 for the PVC lol

Although the 2.625 x 2.75" is only $85 or so for 8'. I wish they sold by the foot...

I'm not sure if they put lettering on it or not but if they did they only do it every 3 feet or so. I'd call and ask to order a 1-2' piece and ask if they can make sure it doesnt have any lettering.

Just sent them an email about this. I don't see why not...

They responded to my black pvc question (I asked if they stocked or new where to buy) He basically said black pipe is ABS and 2.5" is a dying size so they would have to special order it $$$

So yea right now the only options im considering are the clear that you posted Josh or buying some white and dipping it black, which i rather not do.

The black would really effect visiblity at night, the light "should" go right throw the clear. Hope they get back to you soon, if not I'd just call them tomarrow during the day.

Well i received a quick email back from Flex PVC. They are going to check into it further but so far i have been told i may have to pay for the entire length if i want an unmarked section $$$$. She did say the unmarked sections are about 12-18" long (more than I need)

Just got back from VACA...

I am liking the clear tube idea I may go that route myself... Maybe put some strip LEDs at the far end and have it light up a bit...

Check out McMaster Carr (mcmaster.com) for the tubing... Acrylic tubing, 3" outer Dia, extruded, clear, 33.00+ shipping for 6 feet... This tubing(material) is not so hot for impact but polycarbonate will be stupid expensive (as you have already found) and the likelihood of this taking a hit that would damage it is very slim.

Also I was thinking if I go clear tubing of actually bonding the tube to the headlight cover itself to create the seal and then installing it back on to the headlight body. You can do this using an acrylic glue that will be optically clear and you won't have to deal with sealant making a mess. Once I get a chance to start messing with the headlight (probably later this week) I will have a better idea...
