Idk how yall like these ACT clutches. I cant stand them. Did ACT revamp the feel of their clutches lately or something? Everyone seems to think they're such a good idea.

^I know. That's what I was asking. The pressure plate dictates pedal feel. A few years back, every ACT car I drove kinda had a spongy, vague, heavy feel...and the engagement point was near the floor. Worst possible scenario.

Did ACT change something? I heard they lightened their plate springs so that crank walk was less of an issue. But then I just lately saw all these K series people still having huge problems with crank walk and ACT clutches (street use).

This seems to be the best setup for our cars. i have it waiting in my garage for when i decide what i want to do as far as mods...search and read about this setup, nothing but great things.

i dont personally have the setup as i havent had a need to change the original. but when i do it will be that. i have sat in a car with the setup and the pedal feel is stiffer than stock but feels good. all the people that i know have that setup love it.

I just installed the ACT PP, OEM friction disc, OEM AP1 flywheel combo into a MY05 and its the best clutch setup I have ever felt in an S2000. The owner of the car can't stop raving about how much he loves it. Pedal pressure isn't that much more than the OEM PP that it replaced. Its still easy to slip when just driving around town in traffic. Yet it still has the holding power required for the owner's SC setup. Your experience won't be the same with ACT this time around if you go with the ACT PP and OEM everything else. It really is a great setup.

Agreed. I like the act pressure plate in my car more than I liked the oem pressure plate. Everything else is oem(ish. I had the exedy replacement disk, but switching back). It is very easy to drive for someone used to driving a manual car, the pedal feel is stiffer but has smooth engagement and the same characteristics as the oem clutch. Mine held 300wtq with track time, semi hard launches for 20k miles and the disk looked brand new when I pulled it out.

Another vouch for ACT pressure plate and OEM disk. Whatever cars you were driving either weren't S2000's, or the installation was wrong.

I've felt a S2000 with an ACT also. It was about....4 years back. That's why I was asking if anything changed. Idk...just felt a bit vague to me and I immediately guessed (correctly) it was an ACT because of the other ACT cars I had driven.
