So you are saying that it is a waste to get a mod if you are not going to dyno it? That is like saying it is a waste to get a front bumper if you are not going to test it's aerodynamics in a wind tunnel. We know the mods will help because of testing the company performs and positive responses from other people. If you feel it is a waste then this forum or any is not for you. This section is not to show off dynos but to recommend and discuss parts that can be beneficail.

As for getting the car dyno'd I have to agree with turbosix. If you arent sure that the part your recommending has any gains then you shouldnt be telling people that it does. I did a before and after on my berk test pipe, cost me a whopping $20. Got me 7whp, so now I can tell people that the test pipe gains 7whp and have a dyno to prove it. Dont wanna get in the middle of this fight though just stating my opinion.

 

Not true! Ever heard of HKS Hi power? it doesnt gain at all DYNO proven and yet ive seen people on the forum say that they "feel" its gained some power! its just because people dont want to admit that what they bought didnt do anything so they can sleep good at night, so if you really want to know what gains you might want to listen to the people that can back up that what they bought gained power! not the ones that just "feel" the gains

 

Dont forget to add the notorious ARC intake to the list of mods that will lose power. Along with BC cams and the HKS exhaust.

You should really do a more extensive search before making a claim that is very significant. But don't get me wrong, I have seen so many threads on people getting negative results from the Hi Power. So I'm not saying it's good or anything. After hearing those responses and the cases were the piping has broken, I'm never going to think about getting one.

And you can't always find people with proof of gains on a certain part. If it were that easy, we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now. When there isn't proof to back up a part, you just have to base your decision off the number off good and bad responses and then try it for yourself. Isn't that how the very first products were popularized?

 

Good job guys. Attack someone who actually owns an S over some kid that should have used the enormous search bar at the top of the screen. I for one would rather purchase something based on proven numbers over what someone "feels".......

companies that make pretty parts that lose power (or gain none) would go nowhere. those parts would NEVER become popular and anyone trying to support them would be laughed out of the scene.

No i have not had a baseline done. Because i have seen and know what it does already. Why waste money with a baseline when its been posted time again? Talk about wasting money.
