Generally there is some fitment prep work to be done. I've heard that the rest of Mugen's aero lineup is directly bolt-on as well ... but then again, Ben from Bulletproof had a post on his blog about how amazing Amuse's fitment was on their aero products, and look at Diez's bumper.

As far as Shine's pic, all manufacturer pics show perfectly matched aero components. There is no telling how much work they had to do to get it to fit like that -- I've heard from other members who own them that there is a considerable amount of fitment work to be done with their bumpers.

I had a knockoff kit installed on my eclipse (2000)
and its horrible i had to have bolts put in to mount to old mounting points and with current snow banks here in Utah i scrape all the time to the point thats its permantly damaged my car. The bolts have bent my front mounting points a bit to the point that some paint has been chipped off the frame. I will post some pics of it later (I scrape pretty badly because of the lowering even thoe its only slight).
i wish i had a decent camera to show you guys il have to ask a friend or something.

Back from the dead... the JDM vs. knockoff topic is still alive and well on:

I have gotten no word back from Carter and pretty much given up on a response. Since his taking over of the magazine, I have seen fewer feature cars with replica sponsorships in the magazine but the magazine still contains ads from "replica" brands. The feature cars or articles usually have a car (or couple) cars from the land of the rising sun, the emphasis seems to be headed in the right direction.

The magazine parent company Source Interlink Media filed for Chapter 11 in early May 2008, fighting a lawsuit from it's shareholders for fraud, etc...

i know people bitch about parts, but really.. how hard is it to make a s2000 header for $100.. or an exhaust for $250 shipped.. intake for $50..

these parts aren't rocket science to make, a stateside company needs to actually get witty and step up..

If you were wondering how some companies can charge so much for carbon fiber. Here's how ASM is doing things.

this is true, however consider this.

if someone made a header for 100 bucks i would not buy it because there must be a huge sacrifice that they made to sell it for 100.

the reason why parts are so expensive is because these companies put huge time and money into making/designing these parts.

same deal with car manufactures, cars are SUPER expensive, but it takes years and years of development and concepts to get it right.

so i think you pay for what you get.
but always do research beforehand.
