Intake Header Exhaust only?

I am a total newbie to performance mods but I know I don't want to go super c or turbo.
I would like to just do intake...header...exhaust only.
1. would this do anything significant to my performance?
2. do I need to have the car tuned after changing this stuff?
3. is Hondata the best way to go if I NEED to tune it? (I have an 05 with 11k)
4. has anyone used the Borla exhaust? I have been a fan in the past.
Thanks so much...this site is great

since you say $$$ doesn't matter you can get a pwjdm/j's intake and hytech header and exhaust. you can source hytech via GTmotoring, they are a vendor on this site. as far as tuning you will be best off with aem ems standalone unit. nobody really uses borla, it nets you ZERO power, and as far as performance, the whole point of an exhaust system is to lose weight, and gain power, i doubt borla would net you either. as i said earlier either hytech, amuse, or j's racing, try and stick to single since they shed more weight, and usually net more power.
FYI don't get your hopes up as far as hp gains. with the setup i suggested, you'd be spending easily over $3000 and maybe get 20hp( with tune) and that's being generous.
as others have mentioned, check out the NA forum, more info for what you're looking for

Most everythings been covered here so I won't drag this out... But I thought I'd chime in here and shed a little light on your MAIN QUESTION - Tuning?
As stated, Honda pretty much maxed the S2K out from the factory... However, tuning can do one thing. Besides taking advantage of the Slight increase of airflow/change of harmonics... Tuning can open up the Mid-Range big time by lowering the engagement point of Vtec. Honda left plenty of power on the table there so the KICK of Vtec would be significant. Many owners prefer the KICK, most who really drive the car do not. Vtec kicks in while going around a corner, not so great
SO! Tuning is not a must when doing Intake, Exhaust, and TP... Once you do a Header it is recommended. But again, the biggest power gain from tuning is not from taking advantage of your new bolt ons (as stated, maybe 20whp up top) but in the mid-range from engaging Vtec closer to 5k.
It really all boils down to what you really want out of your S.
Good Luck!

^ If your tuner properly tunes your low cam profile, then there's no need to lower VTEC since it'll already be smoothed out. And with those mods, you'll want to add fuel since the car will be running lean.
I have seen a bone stock ( OEM airbox, header, cat, exhaust) 2004 S2000....
Tuned on Hondata made 220 hpl and 160 tq.....230 on a cooled off run
Wen we tune s2000 and are able to effectively move the VTEC crossover the the midrange gains are as high as 20hp and 20 ft/lbs of torque.
for reference..our AP1 runs VTEC @ 3300...the last 2008 we did had it @ 3400
I personally would use AEM is cheaper and just as effective as hondata......... but both work!
mods on top of tuning will help....however we have been seeing that 235 whp is about the limit( at least by our dyno) with bolt ons
the stock 04-05 AP2s dyno around 195-205 on our dyno
the stock 06-08 AP2s dyno 205+...we had a stock CR do 213-217
the last 2 2008s we tuned on Flash Pro hit 236/162 and 232/165 respectively
both had I/H/E/TP/TB

Didn't say i wanted to keep the mods cheap...I just said I don't want supercharger or turbo so I don't tax my engine.....
listen, you really do need to spend some time on here reading and researching. throwing up a BS thread like this isn't going to get you anything but a bunch of opinions and trolling. from the borla comment it's obvious that you haven't done the first bit of research.
furthermore, you don't understand what you're talking about in questioning reliability with FI....
