I tested versions without the HFC, and found zero difference in power, but significant differences in sound level. Aside from cost and a tiny amount of weight, there's no downside to having the HFC in place.

I don't believe there is anything about the F20C that would make it need a higher VTEC engagment than the F22C. I know there is supposedly a small difference in the cams, but I don't think that difference would make a low VTEC engagement problematic.

I think mating this with piping for dual exhaust (no mufflers) and OEM tips would be pretty nice to fill in that left hole. Otherwise, does sound change without the muffler?

i have not knowledge to understand the reason but apperantly this is very common:

unless all tuners were not good enough - which is not very likely but possible...

I'm not sure I follow what you are suggesting. If you ran open pipes with no mufflers, it would be WAY too loud.

I posted in that thread. I don't think there is anything about the F20 that makes it need a higher VTEC engagement than the F22. If someone with a DBW F20C, test pipe, and FlashPro wants me to do a free eTune for them, I'll verify that.

BTW, I just finished the fixtures that I'll use to build the production units, and have my first production unit all tacked up! It is the first unit I've built that will NOT be tested on my car. I will drop it off at the welding shop tomorrow to have it welded up. If it turns out well, I'll post final pricing this weekend. I think I am going to do a smaller initial run, so the group buy is probably going to be limited to 5.

Does this mean you plan to do more than one GB?

this is incredible! wow so much attention to detail.

I am also of the opinion this would be best sold as a complete exhaust.

reason #1 your putting so much work into it. it makes sense to sell it so it sounds and works exactly as you intend.

having said that I have the Asura 3" and the drone can be pretty intense sometimes, but the overall exhaust volume isnt bad @ highrpm. It actually sounds great WOT. I would be very interested in how the Asura/Gernpipe setup would work. Especially since the Asura midpipe can be unbolted. I am however going turbo here very soon, So if your considering having a turbo test dummy I would be willing to help out.

@co_buckeye - The reason why I'm probably going to do 5 in the first run is because I already have enough material to build 5. If those sales turn out well and there is still demand for more, I'll order enough material for another run of 10-15.

@GrandMasterKahn - If I was planning to produce my mid-pipe for an extended period of time, I would definitely offer a full system (or two). However, I don't really plan to sell more than 20 of these mid-pipes for the S2000. My goal for this product is simply to demonstrate the breakthrough in the technology, so I really, really want for people to retrofit their existing exhausts, and report back about how much of an improvement the mid-pipe made. I don't want there to be any doubt about what made the improvement, and I defintiely don't want people to give negative feedback about the mid-pipe just because they don't like something about the mufflers I offered with it. Either someone else will need to license the design, and begin producing them on their own, or there will just be ~20 S2000's that perform like no other.

I cant lie, this is so bad ass it makes me wish a little I was going for a crazy N/A build instead of FI.

I understand where your coming from and that makes sense. I can imagine this really revolutionizing the S2000 exhaust. I can see it now ITB S2k making some killer hp with your exhaust, BC cams, and some quality headers.
