ever since I put my car back to stock I miss my Ohlins dearly, I'm forced to look at them every day just laying in a box. Glad yours are performing well for you!

I will try to remember to repeat my measurements the next time I swap wheels.

Great post and information about the dfv. I will be picking up a set very soon. I have a question for you.

The accepted motion ratio for this car seems to be .7 front and .68 rear.

The conversion from wheel rate to spring rate is WR = SR * MR^2

So for the front, if you have 700lb at the wheel, isn't there ~1400lbs on the spring, not ~1000 like you stated? Maybe this is why your height was off. Same thing for your rear calculation.

It seems in your preload calculations you did not square the motion ratio... Did I miss something?

I don't believe the motion ratio should be squared. If you look at the formulas for mechanical advantage due to lever arms, they are not exponential.

Ok, I guess wheel rate is not exactly the same thing as you were calculating. I stand corrected.

Thanks

Give us a call ...

These 3k dampers perform on par or better than the 5k JRZ/motons..

I just had my 2nd FTD with the Ohlins DFV's! I beat people I haven't ever beaten, and beat many more by a larger margin than ever before. I love this suspension!

I'll be doing my first track event next Saturday at Motor Sports Ranch...

NOTE: If you watch the video below, it may not perform as well as if you view it on YouTube directly!!!

Nice run at Mineral Wells. Looking forward to making this the next upgrade after the Gernpipe.

Thanks for letting me codrive at the last autocross.

This suspension is probably one of the most forgiving suspension I've driven on at an autox
