Default preloading a engine tourqe dampener?

i know most people pull the engine towards the etd then connect the bolt but would it hurt to push the engine away from the etd to match up the bolt?

you can push it, but i wouldnt push it with anything. maybe just have a friend push with his hands. i set mine to where i need to push the engine just a bit to get the bolt in just enough, not all the way in. it's tight enough where i have to turn the bolt so it will pull itself in.

Its solid, not meant to compress or anything. No pre load is necessary, it is not like a gas or liquid filled suspension
