Thumbs up s2k straight pipe

Hi everyone! I want your tough on the setup that I'm thinking to do! I want to put the full stuff from comptech 'headers, downpipe and catback' plus a CAI! Does anyone here run on this modification? I really want to know how will the car react with these modifications?
Thank you

downpipe? Do you mean test pipe? With these mods it will sound better, but pickup maybe 10hp or so. I would suggest that afterwards to get some sort or engine management system to maxamize the gains.

If your looking for a quality product that looks and sounds good then that would be a good set up.

However if your looking to put up big power #'s, relatively, then thats probably not the best setup. Comptech's exhaust products aren't really known for their power generation.

There are so many different claims as to power with exaust on the S2k, There is also a large difference in price........

The header is a hot spot for debate......I couldn't justify spending over a 1000$ on a header so i purchased the Berk Header, Berk is a well respected company based in Irvine CA and focuses on Auto X type racing. Their header comes HPC coated which blocks more than half of radiant heat ( your stock header has a heat sheild on it and most aftermarket header do not with exception of the Mugen).

The test pipe eliminates your stock Converter and the only variatons you will find is in diameter of the pipe, between 60 and 70 mm I went with the Invidia test pipe
( this prior to discovering the Berk technology website.... ). If i had to Buy another i would get the Berk which also has the CEL elim. built in.

The Catback is Based mostly on looks and sound but some people say that a single makes more power than a dual. I had an ARK speedracing Catback but sold it because i didnt like the big round cans and the drown at 3000 rpm. I have since switched back to stock with the header and test pipe installed. But if i were to get another one i would most likley get Fujisubo legalis or the Apexi WS2 because they both have a nice melow sound and look great.

But these are my opinions and opinions are like A$$ holes........
Everyone Has One

Comptech will be happy, not sure if you'll be based on $ spent. Depending on the type of driving you'll be doing, you may be better off with a CAI or FIPK, skip the header, and go with a light weight cat back, Tanabe Concept G etc.
