Default side view mirrors rattling

As in the title guys, my side view mirrors are rattling, either when i close the doors, or when i drive slow on rough tarmac/pavements. I spent a few hours today fixing other rattles in the interior of the drivers side door, now i can hear the mirror rattling. The passenger side is not rattling that much when i am closing the door, it does it mostly when i am driving on uneven surfaces. What do you do to solve this? I feel it's the glass part rattling, but i haven't taken it apart so i am not sure, thought i should ask others that have done it before me, before i start dissasembling

It's usually the mirror body that shakes and rattles. Try moving the body with your hand to see how loose it is. If it's loose:

Cut a 2" piece of the rubber tube that's used on window screens. Fold the mirror housing toward the window, insert 2" rubber tube between base and mirror, fold mirror back to the normal position. No more rattle.

I just checked the housing/body after reading your reply, there is zero play. But there is play in the glass, i can move it to all directions slightly and recreate the noise it makes. I can't tell if it's the glass or the mechanism where the glass mounts as i can't see behind without tearing it into pieces. Is it just me with this annoying rattle?

So i just removed the glasses and found zero play in the mechanism/motor behind as well. The play is on the mounting tabs, so the fix is pretty simple. I applied a minor amount of grey rtv on all the contact points of the tabs, enough to eliminate the play but still be able to pull them if ever needed. Rtv has to be applied on the tabs circled with red for anyone else having the same problem. For the upper tabs/hooks, apply rtv directly on the mounting point of the mechanism, or apply rtv under the tabs of the glass mount with a toothpick, under, not on.

There should be some white paste installed by the factory to help reduce rattles.

These wasn't any on mine, neither on the glass side or the housing/mechanism side, not even traces of it
