Bumping the cut-off switch (former window lock switch) with the elbow in a fast corner in the rain would be more "interesting" than locking the window...

You can just put the switch inline with the 12v ignition. Turning off the switch wouldn't do anything. It'll just prevent you from cranking the ignition
