Hilarious, i got the inline stroker kit that retails at 2300 for 1500. I cant stop laughing. Greatest joke ever.

Valve cover isn't the only thing that is an oem part you WILL NEED, also never did I say the valve cover itself is $300 I said that the valve cover and oem k-series parts you WILL NEED will all come out to around $300. I have kpro, how in the hell are you going to tell me? Lol that's the joke. Since you called inline pro about a stroker kit, go ahead and ask them for a kpro quote on prices, then remove the foot in your mouth

Well, no, to plan you must have realistic numbers, not some make believe out of your ass number, so no you didn't explain it well at all. Since I do have kpro, I'd like to help you develop a more accurate number, kpro used can be had for $950-$1150 range just for the ecu, now after that you must purchase k-series oem parts and a 06 s2000 valve cover, I suggest buying these new, unless you trust the buyer you purchase them from used $150-$300 range, now you have the liberty of doing the labor yourself or paying a trained professional, pick a tuner that can tune $300-$500 and install $250-$300....all in all its nearly double of your expected cost which isn't good for building business

I also wasn't aware of the valve cover needing to be switched. Searched for 5 seconds on google, found honda shops selling them new for 180 (http://www.hondapartsoverstock.com/p...wd=&origin=pla) link for a new one for 177. On here, I've seen them go for very, very cheap. Hell, heres a used one from a couple days ago for 100 https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/107...#entry23032649, and it looks like I could sell mine for the same.

Question is, why do I need a new valve cover? I haven't come across that in my searches.

The labor involved with installing a valve cover is not really labor, pretty fast job for just about anyone. The engine removal, ecu install (which again, I can't believe someone would charge 300 for, it's not that difficult to do), and engine installation are all being done for free, just fyi. The only labor I am paying for is the assembly/rebuild, which was accounted for. (and obviously, the eventual tune)

The only real increase in price is the tuning, which I specifically stated I wasn't including, and stated I knew would be expensive. It's cool to be helpful, not so helpful to spout out nonsense like 300 for a valve cover used and 300 for an ecu install. you say it will double my cost, I see an increase of 350 for the kpro, maybe 100 for a valve cover- but hey, you never know, I may find a good deal on that as well. so in reality, it's 450 more than my originally laid out number, nowhere near double. even with tuning, i'll be right around 4 grand. still not significantly different than buying a used motor or much more expensive than a stock rebuild, considering that 1500 of my budget is going towards an ecu and tuning. I'll probably be able to make some money back selling my old rods, pistons, apparently valve cover, and crank. The pistons ended up being in perfect shape (the motor is already in pieces), So I still feel my original estimate was fairly accurate, not pulled out of my ass. Only thing unaccounted for was the kpro price difference, but I'm sure with some patience and diligence I'll find a decent deal out there. s2ki has always pulled through for me in the past. I think I am getting tuned at Parris Engine Dynamics in stockton, CA. That's where my car is, my engine building buddy who is handling the rebuild for me lives up there, so I sent my car to him. PED is pretty close by.

At least it hopefully will, lol, because the car is on it's way to get painted as well while the motor is out.

Two words: crank sensor. There is more work than you are expecting when installing kpro again been there done that, all of which you have planned is all wrong smh

LOL, yeah its not $300 for just a cover, there are some sensors that need to be changed along other parts.
