2-week ownership update
Sold my E36 M3 track car recently and purchased a 2006 AP2 S2000 with 93K miles about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to make it to the 5/25 Homestead event so I set out to get the basic work done to the car.
1. Hard Dog Roll Bar (They shipped it same day and I had it in 2 days)
2. SS Brake Lines
3. Hawk Blue pads (got good deal on them)
4. ATE brake fluid (had some left over)
5. Engine, Diff, Transmission fluids change.
6. Mount AIM Solo
7. Mount GoPro.
8. R-S3 Tires (went with 225/245 so I can just use the stock wheels)
9. Alignment (-2.0 Front Camber, -2.5 Rear Camber, Max Caster, 0 Front Toe, 1/8 Rear Toe)

Took pretty much the entire day to get the roll bar in with my helper. I might have finished quicker, but my helper fell asleep on the passenger floor. Longest part was to take apart the plastic panels. I was this close to pulling out the sawzall.

I managed to put back a few panels like the center console and the rear tray panel. I'll work on the rest at some point.

I used the Modifry bracket to mount my AIM Solo which ended up at a pretty good location. Easy to read while on track.

I used the cheap plastic GoPro roll bar mount for now, but I have a nice aluminum bracket I'm going to use in the future. I would be cool if HardDog welded a GoPro tab in the center.

I wasnt sure where to mount the remote for the GoPro so I strapped it to the visor. It's actually a pretty good spot because you can access it fairly easy while on pit road or someone else can access it while standing next to the car.
Here's one random lap from Saturday with the S2000. At lower speeds I like the S2000 better than the E36 M3, steering is a little more precise and the rear doesn't step out as easily under power like the M3. At higher speeds, the M3 felt a little more planted. The S2000's rear felt a little light at higher speeds. Overall my lap times were about 4 seconds slower than with the M3, but the M3 had coilovers and this was my first time in the S2000. Top speed with the M3 was 110 MPH VS 106 MPH in the S2000. I wonder if a hardtop would help with aerodynamics.

Next on my list of To Do's in this order I beleive:
-Hardtop
-Racing Seat
-Harness
-K&N Intake
-Test pipe

Nice work--you didn't waste any time. A hard top should make a big difference in top speed because of all the drag caused by the open cockpit but you'll pick up a lot more aerodynamic lift with the hard top in place so the car might feel lighter & looser on high speed corners.
I expect as you get used to the car you'll eclipse your old M3 track personal best.

Looks like a great start. Watching your video brings back memories! i cut my teeth in the s2k at homestead and I have spent many weekends there.
Hit up Sebring as soon as you can, its a proper track and not 4 straight aways...

I like the mount for the aim. I wasn't sure about that braket working there so I put mine on the windshield with a suction cup mount to the left of the steering wheel. Did you have to recailabrate it for the angle it's on?
Doesn't your Go-Pro mount hit the softtop mounted there? I have mine on the passenger side diagonal. The upper hoop of my bar rubs against the hardtop lining, so no chance of mounting it there.
Nice work in a short amount of time!
