street class. let go of the stock term.

The miata classes do exactly what you're saying and I have been all along.

stock cars can run r-comps in street
modified cars run street tires in street

then that's 2 classes. street (where mod cars and run R1R) and probably unlimited (mod cars with r-comp ?).

actually what u just propose "street" class is what Jaku and others called "mod" class. it is for a mod car with street tires or street car running r-compound. so you guys agrees after all, just different name.

I can see a completely stock s2k with alignment, pads and R-comp stomp a stock class s2k with race Koni, intake, exhaust on street tires.
This does not seem to be true. IIRC the top S2K'ers out west that are on street tires are laying down better times (~4 seconds) than mildly modded R-comp S2K's. Correctly adjusted suspension, improved aero, and increased HP can make up for lack of absolute grip, it's just not as cheap or easy.

Is this actually going to happen or no. Someone in charge please make the call on the tires so -either way- people can start getting prepared, the 25th is not too far away.

I would really like to know if R-compounds are going to be allowed in stock class, because I'd rather make the tire investment up front and learn on these rather than switch later.
