2009 S2000 Challenge Series
Ah, that's what I figured. Plus, it wouldn't really be fair because if the competition is softer in street than modified, it would be a really scumbag move to win every event in street except your last one in modified, then win in modified.
BTW: can a stock AP1 suspension handle 225/245 R888?

well no what would have to happen and would suck for the points keeper is your times would be moved into the other class and you'd get points for where you finished in class and anyone slower than you would lose points.
serious pita.
And I've run my 18x9F 18x10R w/ 275x4 on my stock suspension'd ap1
They do rub a little bit, but nothing too bad.

A few questions.
Weight reduction: So dry carbon fenders, hood, trunk and rear bumper skin are no points?
Tire: What defines tire "level"? Treadwear rating? Might be a problem for someone who buys tires for the event assuming level 1 but is told level 2 at the event.
Aero: "any add-on lip". Does this include the optional dealer installed factory urethane lip spoiler?
So a fixed mount 13 lb driver's seat and 3 lb baby seat in the pax side is no extra points?
I vote points stay in the class you earned them in. Every other car and bike racing series I've been in runs that way. A few may even trophy in more than one class at year's end. That's kinda cool.

A Seibon vented hood would be a nice upgrade, since it will help with cooling and reliability. Plus, I think they're heavier than stock anyway. Are the dry carbon pieces significantly lighter that it would add any real advantage?
I also think the tire options should be elaborated upon. I mean, are RE-050A and S-02 tires Class 0 tire or Class 1? But treadwear rating is also difficult because the Z1 has a TW of 200 vs. 140 for RE-070.
The stock seat weighs around 35 pounds anyway. A difference of 20 pounds is so negligible--the difference between me last June vs now. =[
I also agree that points should stay in the class you earned them in--just figured I ask.

I agree with Krazik, that any mod to intake should get let's pt, it is just easier to rule. so you won't have one keep asking if this or that improves performance. this applies to everything to keep ruling simple.
u guys should only worry if it is borderline in point that will bump you into another class. if you are 8 pt. like me. still a ton of room to stay in mod. it wouldn't matter much if there is a 1/4 point not accounted for.
I have a few things I like to clarify:
1. cars can update and backdate right w/o incurring point ? e.g. AP1 can install AP2 wheels. AP2 can run AP1 flywheel. AP1 can run AP2 shocks, sway bar, etc. may be just rule out CR parts.
2. I would like to add a 0.25 pt or so for removing passenger seat. some might want to remove it to carry wheels/tires to track. it could be spare (in case of bent wheel/flat spot), or r-comp (4 probably won't fit).

1. yes, any updating or backdating is allowed
2. just keep the spare tire in the passenger seat, then it's no point since tire/wheel are heavier! but then it can't be secured! lol
I think if someone blew a tire, the best solution is borrow one from another s2k fellow! there are so many of them!

Does that mean we still add for stripped or light weight hard top?

no more points for adding hardtop, I don't think someone can have advantage of running both hardtop and soft top!

Not to mention wheel spacers. Anything more than a 4mm spacer should count the same as an aftermarket wheel.
Regarding CF hoods, fenders etc...looks like it is open. This makes things easier, although some components will be more advantageous than others.
The rules say:
WEIGHT REDUCTION
For Stock & Modified class, weight reduction limited to battery, spare tire, tools, light weight body panels, bucket seats.
