Suggestion: As far as weight reduction in terms of lightweight body panels and removal of passenger seat, why not agree upon some minimum weight of 2700lbs? This would be enforced by the honor system, of course. You know what you took out and put in...

Since the S2000 weighs ~2810lbs, the 110 pound difference could easily be made up things such as:
Titanium header-back exhaust: -50lbs
Spare tire + tools removal: -30lbs
Replace OEM seat with bucket and mount: -10lbs
Remove passenger seat: -32lbs

Lightweight body panels like a CF hood or trunk would hardly make any difference at all compared to the above.

This would keep things pretty simple, and give people who are running heavy roll bars/cages some slack...

Well, if I can play in the stock class I might be interested.

Too lazy to figure out how to maximize 200 points into the lowest laptimes possible

cos weighing cars is an hassle, by limiting what you can see to remove or replace is easy.

CR is good to go in street class, you probably only have room for exhaust to stay in street class!

Well, it's honors system anyway. What's to prevent someone from swiss-cheesing the hell outta the car, putting dry carbon body panels, removing sound deadening/insulation, etc. and painting it an OEM color--none would be the wiser...

Dry CF panels, painted or not, are open for all classes according to the rules.

Removing sound deadening and cutting the unibody is not specified so it would bump you to unlimited

i kinda came up an idea for removing passenger seat

i just weight it 32 lbs and i remember you weight oem spare for 25 lbs and tool box for 5lbs?

so can we make people who take out passenger seat to run oem spare and tool box?

that's only 2lbs difference, sounds fair?
the problem is I need space. leaving spare tire and tools in the car actually defeats the purpose. I would vote for 0.25 pt or similar. I don't mind a simple 2,700LB rule, which leaves some room.

Aaron has said has he will enforce the spirit of the rule if you end up on podium. so if you show up in a 2,400LB car running in street or mod, you will be bumped into unlimited, EVEN if you found a loophole.

That's not in the rules, but I don't see how it can be done without stripping the car beyond the specified weight reduction that has been permitted.

I agree, there should be a minimum weight for mod and street class. It would be easy to impound the podium cars to the scales, but this just adds hassle to such an informal series.

It seems that Aaron insists on an honor system because from all his years on the racetrack, apparently racers never cheat

There should be ballast stipulation (point value or weight) added for people in mod and street class that have removed their soft-tops and are running hardtops. Reason being, most of them will have a roll-bar and harness with a race seat. People should not be penalized for safety.

The penalty for soft-top removal should be waived if:
there is also a 4pt roll-bar, 5-6pt harness, and an approved race seat.
