4.77 finaldrive affects on 1/4 mile

Ive heard a 4.77 final drive will hurt the 1/4 mile time of a s2k and that the 4.44 is the best choice for track use. Why is the 4.77 worse wouldnt it be better. They say it is only good for everyday driving.

Depends on what other mods are on the car and how fast it is, but that statement implies one would be making an extra shift with the .77's. With the same number of shifts, the shorter gearing will be faster.

I am not sure about times, but you have you'll be in 6th w/ 4.77s

Not sure if the shorter gearing is gonna help when you have to shift so many times.
