Im not sure I saw this across the thread; but by removing/bypassing this pump will it affect CA emissions? Im in the process of converting my SS S2K into a track car but I still want to use it on the street/pass CA smog.

I'll let the experts verify, but if it is only an ODBII check then you are good go. I think you should be fine even if they do a sniffer test since the air pump is only used to heat up the catalytic converter during cold starts to get it operating efficiently. I don't think it would make any difference to your idle or loaded readings. I don't know how strict CA is, if they actually do a visual inspection and look for it then you might be in trouble.

I installed this product yesterday, working great even with my AEM F/IC. I highly recommend this product and Caleb (Unbreakable6161) is a pleasure to do business with.

What is the pricing on this you guys? No mention so far in this thread, but might as well make it public so people can plan and get an idea of what the cost/benefit is. Thanks in advance.

I assume he hasn't directly linked to the product because he doesn't want to get this thread shut down for advertising. It was $65 shipped, well worth it IMO.

Yes. ^

The air pump is only to introduce extra oxygen into the exhaust ahead of the catalytic convertor to get it light off sooner during cold starts, thus reducing cold start emissions, which are a significant portion of overall vehicle emissions. If you're car has been idling for any time at all, then the air pump would have shut off already anyway and a sniffer test wouldn't be able to tell the difference. 99% sure anyway...

How do you unplug the "large plug" shown in A.2? For the life of me the damn thing won't unclip.

Correct. Was just reading about it in the service manual a couple weeks ago.

Try using a flathead to pry it open while pushing down the tab/clip. You don't have to unclip it, it's just a safety precaution.

If you can't get it unclipped, just tap the small gauge oem white wire and be sure not to ground it (it's a constant 12v source).

I'm not getting any 12V across the OEM white wire out of that same plug (resulting in codes p0141 and p1415). Any suggestions?

edit: it's an '00 if that makes any difference (probably shouldn't.)
