Macr88,

Your post raised several issues for me that the STR guys just ignored.
Speaking of top mounts. Maybe I missed some posts but I have some questions.

Ground Control and KW CS are both available, with GC being taller for the OTS Konis, and one version with Poly and the other with a bearing. Apparently Guy A. is developing a s2000 top?

I always though that shocks didn't need this, but reading here and reviewing the design it does look like there is some lateral movement and some vertical hysteresis.

Would a GC bearing top mount (with a torrington at the base of the spring) be ideal to eliminate any issues? Say instead of the SOS?

^ I'm not really exactly sure what your questions are.

I haven't seen the GC top hat with the pillow ball, I've only seen the poly one. If you have a picture or link that I can look at that would help.

I'll eventually make some top hats at some point and if that doesn't work out then I'll buy Guy's or find something else.
I'm still looking for the best price for some Torrington bearings and so far it looks like PSI has the best price.

I got the info for the the cheap torringtons here: http://zilvia.net/f/chat/270829-writeup-cu...p-assembly.html

Jay's kit is here: http://www.ground-control-store.com/produc...RACE+%28Pair%29

I talked with the sales person, and he talked to the tech and both swore they were user replaceable.

I was thinking the poly for the rear, and the metal for the front.

For the Torrington at Amazon it's 8.59 for the bearing and 8.39 for shipping and the problem with Amazon is they'll charge 8.39 for each damn one you order instead of grouping your shipping. I was going to order it from there until I saw the shipping.

The GC top hat looks really tall and you might not even be able to use a spring perch with that so it would be a waste of money.

Sign up a trial Amazon Prime account. This might save you $$$ on shipping.

Isn't that stuff sold by Amazon only? These bearings are sold by Torrington.

I didn't know about the group shipping, maybe direct from them would be cheaper. McMaster or Grainger?

GC says that the spring cap fits fine and based their design on it?

Hmm, I guess I'd have to see one before I decide to run it because it just doesn't look right.

I'm calling jay, because I was starting to doubt this too, it is so recessed that unless the spring cap has a long top it will ride in the top of the mount. Their cap looks almost flush.

Would you use SOS again?
