Maier Racing is in Hayward and Guy lives in Novato, races at all the AAS events. Yellow AP2

Guy used to live in SoCal but moved up here and is a service Manager at the Range Rover/ Jaguar dealer in Mill Valley.

Is Guy running in STR or BS this year? If STR I'm assuming he's using the PSS or PSS9 shocks?

Guy is running STR, he is running "some form" of a Bilstein...

He doesn't wan't his setup publicly known, but he will tell that they are adjustable bilsteins w/ custom valving and spring rates. He's also running a custom front sway bar, I'm not sure if its the 1.5 inch or what.

Oh ok, cause I know Guy Ankeny is doing some Bilstein stuff now, he's actually running them on his S2000 and Mike over at Maier Racing does Bilstein. Wasn't sure if you were sending them off to SoCal or keeping it local.
I frequently see the Maier Racing Mustangs competing in the Sacramento SCCA chapter. I was under the impression that Maier was all about Mustangs and domestics. Didn't know they were dabbling in other makes as well.

I actually bought a set of PSS coilovers for my previous car with the intention of having them revalved for custom spring rates. I've considered another set for the S2000 but frankly I haven't been too impressed with the customer service when I've attepted to contact the SoCal Bilstein office.

The receptionist doesn't listen very well unless you are asking for a specific person. I asked for service and she transfered me to sales. Sales gave me the extension for a guy named Ramon but he doesn't answer his phone and hasn't returned my calls.

Mike does mostly Mustang stuff, but if you catch him at the right time, he will do import stuff. Just from my memory, he's worked on Porsches, Mazdas, Hondas, VWs, Corvettes, Camaros, BMWs and Subarus. I guess the fact that im a close friend he might do more for me vs other people. But, he is still a Bilstein dealer and I'm sure he would be willing to revalve Bilstein shocks. It may be where you have to have them off the car...

If you go to the Sac chapter event this weekend, you'll get to see the improved Yellow Mustang.

Call their other headquarters and ask to speak with Pat, I've had good luck with him and that's where my parts came from through Voigt racing.

Hmmm... perhaps I'll approach maier next time I see them and guage their interest level... just to see if they are an option.

I won't be at this weekends AutoX due to a prior engagement but this will probably be the only weekend I miss all year.

I noticed earlier in this thread that you said SoCal Bilstein "wasn't helpful" and I think I can relate. Good tip on contacting Pat @ Bilstein East Coast.

If I were to get a revalve I think I would want it to come from Bilstein. Perhaps this is flawed logic, but I figured if anyone was going to do a good job revalving a Bilstein shock it would be Bilstein themselves.

I've also contacted PSi @ Infineon. I was surprised when they referred me back to Bilstein saying:
"They require a unique method of repressurizing that we are currently no able to do. The motorsports shocks we can service have a schreader valve on them, allowing us to recharge them that way."

Apparently, they are not interested in performing the schreader valve conversion.

Thats strange. We just performed that change over on Maiers 66 Mustang Coupe. They needed a revalve so we just drilled a hole in the shock body and tapped it with a 1/8 inch pipe tap and installed the schrader valve. Actually we installed his penske remote res...
