Cobalts come in a pretty box, a touch I like especially for such a dirty industrial product. for nice presentation.
Blah. Save the marketing for your consumer base. I'd take mine bubble wrapped in a FedEx envelope if it shed a few bucks Regardless, they sound good. Thanks for the review

I talked to Andie and he said for most people he'd suggest the XR4 rears to go w/ the XR2 fronts but you'll be able to pick and choose your compound if you want more or less rear brake.

why doubt? Andie knows what he's talking about. He's the engineer

The front pads are the one you really use anyway.

so the difference in pads in the back should be negligible?

I've had a prototype set too but hadn't put them on until recently. I now have 3 days on them all at Phoenix International Raceway which isn't very tough on brakes since there is only one hard brake zone covering 1.5miles, after that you're off the brakes all the way down the back stretch, NASCAR 3&4 and the front stretch. One thing I can verify is that they are much more responsive and consistent before you get any real heat in them plus they don't seem to squeal on the street

for an even better product from Cobalt.

BTW, I'm running GT sports in the rear because that is all I could get at the time so I'm looking forward to trying the new rear compounds.

Oh yeah those gold posts are not rivets. You can see they don't go thru to the friction side of the pad. But are used in holding the pad to the backing plate. They won't damage your rotors.
but I was told the production pads wouldn't need them. I guess we'll have to see...

He recommended the new GT-S compound in the rear with the XR2 fronts for me. But I'd prefer a bit less rear brake anyway. I dont hit the track again til late april, but I'll try to remember to put up some feedback. I'm just glad Cobalt is making pads again, I have been unimpressed with Hawk and Carbotech.
