Yeah, what he said. Also trying a different browser might help. Firefox vs. Internet explorer. Sometimes I find that Firefox hangs up, but ie does not.

You should be good though. Looking forward to seeing how you roll on course.

Alright everyone, I need your help. I have been trying since 7pm to find a way to get these videos uploaded to youtube. It fails to upload each time. I downloaded a million converters, codecs, free video editing software. Nothing works. Frustrating! Please let me know how I can get these videos uploaded properly. They are standard format Go-Pro Hero HD videos in .mp4 format.

<sigh>
What's the file size and duration/length of the clip? What error do you get/how does it fail? Also, some people seem to like uploading videos to Vimeo.com
Imran,
vimeo basic(free account) I believe is more limited(500mb per week upload) than youtube is.
Youtube no longer limits video length(used to be up to 15min, not sure if there's a limit at all now) and I've been able to test upload video file sizes of about 2GB or more without any issues, so I don't think the issue is video length or video file size.

Nick
I would definitely try google chrome if you're not already using this to upload.
Internet explorer does seem to cause more issues for youtube uploading.

Try this link to upload, it's the "basic uploader"

YMMV

I know I've had issues with file size/length in the past over 15min/2gb, so thanks for clearing that up Rad, good info.

As a test, I just started uploading one of our gopro vids from this past weekend. Which happens to be 2.23GB in size and 21:11 in length. Straight out of the gopro (mp4 format). So far it's going...come'on FIOS. 20min to go before completion, but you'd think that if youtube had an issue with size/length(someone will crack a joke about this), it'd have bitched before it even started pulling the file from me.

We shall see...

using chrome

update
My 2.23GB/21min file from my gopro uploaded(and plays fine) successfully to my youtube channel using Google chrome.

Wow!!! What an awesome experience! Thanks everyone for an incredible weekend! Congratulations Nick for a great win in a super talented class! And Jadrice for an epic challenge win! I had the best seat in the house for the challenges! Tony, Seeing you and Jadrice battle it out for the bonus challenge was great! It was cool to hear your name called first right after we talked about it. I am glad we were able to help you get your car ready in time. I was trying to use my powers to help you! LOL! You were smooth and consistent throughout. Awesome! The level of competition in B stock is crazy! It was my first pro and I had no idea that it was going to be so exciting. Positions changing after every round, great stuff. Jeff, you had some frustration this weekend but we all know you are going to get that car dialed in and be even tougher to keep up with. I struggled Sunday as was unable to improve. It was my anniversary. Maybe karma for skipping that to go racing? Or the fact that I still have not filed my taxes and it was 4/15? I was exhausted afterwards and work really sucked today! I am going to try to make it to the divisional, hope to see everyone there! Steve

If anybody wants to see some epic spin action, here are my super challenge runs against Jeff Hurst who won STX. All the STR S2000s were spinning 180's through the finish on the left side, I never did it (maybe once, I don't remember). Well I made up for that here in spades. I beat him on the right side, but on the left I was trying to do a safe run and I guess went too safe and at the end I saw that we were probably neck and neck or he was slightly ahead so I went for broke, and when the spin started I just tried to delay it until I crossed the lights while getting as much gas in as possible. No cones though!

Apparently I won the mario kart award, someone must have tossed a banana peel at the finish

(by the way, my camera is officially done for - I realized why it's so bouncy, the mount cracked somehow. It's been getting steadily worse this year. It has fulfilled many years of service and now I get to get a shiny gopro or similar - it's mostly watchable though.)

Jon, did the run count? It didn't look like you hit cones or anything.

Yep, it counted and i was clean, no cones. Don't think i lost much time on the spin either since i held it together until right when i crossed the lights. Don't know for sure since in the challenge you don't get times.

Thanks Rad, and everyone else for the help. I have downloaded and installed google chrome. The video is about 7 min 30 sec, a little under 1 GB. I am uploading it now using the conventional installer. If that doesn't work, I will use the basic uploader you provided. Fingers crossed.

Finally got the video up! (Good lord, what a struggle to get it uploaded!)

Here is the raw video from my Sunday final runs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd-J9Y4suts

It just finished uploading and is now viewable. Note that I will make a few more videos, editing out my fast runs and analyzing them a bit more. For this one, sit back, relax, have a beer and enjoy the action and emotion of the BS DC Pro Solo battle with Jay "Mr. Wonderful" Toussaint! Everything from my stall at the line, running out of order, problems with getting my helmet scanned in, coning away a blazing 30.004 on the right side, and then the "it's not over yet" wait as I pull the car in to grid waiting for Jay to take his rerun <flashbacks of last years STR Solo Nationals when Thorne got me on the last run by .002s) Fantastic commentary by Mike "Junior Johnson!"

Link to results: http://sololive.scca.com/BS.html

My fast clean runs in the vid are run 2 (right side) at a 30.255 and run 3 (left side) at a 31.727. I was, um, "excited" once I heard the time.
