lol soon, but not yet.
It's actually interesting that you're so soft...that means you're actually not stiffer than me. I'm 800/700, so we're negligibly different. I'm guessing it's your shock settings. Or bars, which front bar do you have again?
I'm jealous that you can actually adjust compression, I have figured out that my compression adjustment doesn't do much. So I revalved to a "safe" setting in front and I'll get to the rear later this year, it actually seems to work well so far.
I'm not sure I've noticed the same thing about the tires. To me they don't change the balance of the car much. The one time I did back to back testing was at nats on the test course and I felt the hankooks oversteered more but in retrospect I think it was just that they couldn't put power down as well.
Edit: Or maybe my car is more predictable because of all the extra weight on my car, maybe yours is so light it's starting to float and you're losing traction (transitioning back to trash talking now...
)
Steve, That's funny because there are many similarities between your situation and mine. For example:
I think my car is probably much better in transitions better than Jon's since mine is stiffer, but that his has been reported as more predictable on slippery surfaces (what a mutual friend stated). I think predictability will translate to confidence at FedEx, and consequently harder driving.
I also need to adjust shock settings finely. I am in the middle on compression all around, and like the car as it is on most surfaces --except Fedex, so I really would like to tune with shocks since they are easily changed and that would allow me to not alter hardware on account of Fedex's idiosyncrasies. However, I do have some 650 springs I may swap out in NJ at the mid point to see if going a little softer in the back helps predictability. I am currently at 700 in the back (850 front).
This may be a factor for you to consider: when on RS-3s I find that I need more rear spring rate to make them feel like the Dunlops. What, if anything do you guys do to equalize the feel between the two tres? I now have an adjustable rear sway, so I can stiffen that way when using the RS-3's but I really find that their softer sidewalls make a huge difference in the car's overall spring rate -- enough to warrant mechanical changes. Do you just drive around this?
I am not sure which tires I will use for the Pro. Probably going to bring both sets to NJ and test. I am not even sure still how the compression affects handling on my car to a science, or how much the range would equate to virtual spring rate.. I just need a little softer in the back (like 25-50 lbs less), but my rear Gendron sway is already at full soft (for the Dunlops). I have +/- 6 clicks to play with on compression in both the front and rear on Moton Clubsports and off the shelf valving.
So much to do..
I think power would be a more significant factor at NJ than it will be at FedEx, but I agree that the lack of tune isn't good for you guys.

Yo. Don't be trashin my shit. I'm "Fast and the Furious" yo! You can call me Mr. Vin Diesel.
Jon, here is my setup: 850/700 Gendron 1.25" Full still / Gendron rear full soft. The rear is just a touch softer than the MX5 bar I had for Dixie. So we are within the range of static I guess. Probably that's why ndy had no problem in your car. He said it was "more predictable," but I was at 850/750 for Dixie, so my car is also more predictable since the last time he drove it.
My runs at warminster were all pretty quick, but the fastest run was a second faster when I dropped the rear sway. I just hate the feel.
Anyway, we can now safely complete the technical discussion. I will now be bringing a bunch of stuff to NJ to tune for an incomparable surface
Just remember... don't mess with the Aero. I gots mad downforce.

It takes so little to get out of shape at Fedex and hard to recover.
Hoping I'm scaring you guys
the kia is a powerhouse, you don't want any of that action. ask Hollis, he banned it from STF for being an overdog. i may bring both cars to the tnt, i invited njdrive to bring his yaris to the nnjr tnt, but he backed out, afraid of the kia. he will come up with some other excuse, but we all know that is the real reason.
