I still don't see how you driving that Kia. It's just not your style. You like driving with the tail hanging out, one run with that thing and you'll give up.

What sucks more than anything is that neither Rad nor I have ever driven at FedEx nor have we even seen the lot. I guess we're Fedex virgins, just hoping we don't get raped by all you fast boys.

I see we're all reged for this Saturday's test and tune in Jersey. You guys planning on driving flat out or will there be a bit of sandbagging going on?

so my sways are a little softer, I'm at 5/6 on gendron 1.25 hollow in front, and miata bar rear. Do you have the hollow bar in front?
Yep. 1.25" hollow. had it at 5/6 for Dixie with the MX5 bar. It is now at 6/6 since two weeks ago. Slaloms better with 6/6, and is more predictable. The front is just fine. As Perry said, it is all about controlling the back, and I am happy with it, but want a little more confidence to go hard at Fedex. This may be more me psychologically than anything else. I feel 100% an NJ and most other places, hate the changes in grip though at Fedex. You could see the difference as you broke later for the downhill chicago box, and your confidence going up the hill in the slalom. I have had bad experiences with both those spots. However, I have had good memories of the last box on the white concrete, and went confidently through that section without second thought. I should have posted my run 3 where I was getting a little confident from my best run 2, and got loose without doing much at the top of the downhill section and took out the three cones as a result. Our times were like 0.7 apart, so we are splitting hairs here.

It takes so little to get out of shape at Fedex and hard to recover.

Hoping I'm scaring you guys
Actually for that last white part of the course I knew I had a good run going so I went really conservative on it (actually more than I meant to). On run 3 I took that section 0.5 sec faster, and I also got a tenth on my last run at the beginning of the course, so if I combine the middle of my 4th run (the video one ), with the beginning and end of run 3....I'm down at 46.9, so I know the car was capable of 46's on that course. Of course I would have needed 10 runs to do it, but that's irrelevant because at a prosolo I get like 300 runs.

So in summary, You never had me! You never had your car! You're lucky you didn't blow the welds on your intake! Nobody likes the tuna here!

lol I love getting competitive about driving cars around parking lots.

I'm mostly gonna be messing with settings now that my shocks are valved differently. I'll probably change back when I get down to fedex because what i have now works there, but I want to get some more tuning done for later events since this'll be my only t&t.

So in other words, sandbagging

BTW, don't worry so much about fedex. Just be careful of the transitions and be mindful of the fact that it's on the side of a mountain, but other than that it's not nearly as different from other sites as it was at one point.

I'm gonna be driving flat out. If my times are slow - moderate (like usual) I will argue that I was tuning and that the results are not indicative of future performance (but they will be, and I will have some hope initially only to be flogged in the later runs and then have it compounded on day two like normal).

Steve and Rad.. in all seriousness, there is a "hole shot" program on the Evo School site.. I might look into that, or any other way to gauge the grip so that you can mitigate the experience difference on the FedEx lot. It is unique.

Jon.. you and that "fancy" data junk. That's what people say about me and my "fancy" CR... when I know they want one, but are reluctant to admit it. I got some "fancy" junk in my car, but it doesn't have wires in it. And it comes in a much smaller package.

Anyway, can we just get this event done on Friday. I'm tired of waiting.

Rad's doing the hole shot. I'm actually gonna sign up for some test launches that day to get a feel for the grip. Other than that, we're gonna conserve the tire for the real action.

I'm a fancy guy, and I need fancy things. Your CR isn't fancy enough for me, I need fancy features like pressing a button and the top goes down automatically. Or press a switch and cold air comes out and cools me down. Can yours do that?

OK, ok, that's just what I tell myself as I look at the scale readings and cry.

Motion seconded. Although let's do it saturday, I'm on the west coast until friday night. I'll call DC region and let them know we're doing the prosolo early.

bear in mind that the luanches will get grippier as the weekend progresses. so, if you find your sweet spot rpm in practice, you will most likely have to up it as the heats go on.

i have put 5k on the kia, and think it will be a riot in STF trim. besides, it is a win win racing it. if you lose, you are in a kia, so what. if you win, well, would you want to admit you got smoked by a kia?

I have fancy needs too...

I like to look at my CR year round as it sits on a trailer in my garage! LOL ... except for auto-x events, of course! Turning on the A/C at the line, before you run, makes you lazy and slow

No! NO it doesn't! It makes you alert and ready, and keeps your brain in optimal condition. And your hands aren't all sweaty for better steering wheel control. Well worth the 100 lbs. It's actually my secret weapon, but I'm tired of having an advantage so I thought I'd tell everyone so they can sell their CRs and also have the advantage.
