deleting abs
could be good and bad if you only track the car i see no problem with it because if you start relying on your abs to stop the car and something happens and you loose abs your screwed but if you drive on the street alot i wouldnt do it. disabling it might be tricky id start with a fuse maybe gl
lol sorry ckit. I stay on theses forums reading and am thinging about cleaning up the engine bay. removing C/C and ABS would save some wieght and look cleaner.
So before I look into removing it I wanted to ask you all what you think

I mean this in the nicest possible way: if you can't think of a compelling reason not to remove your ABS to make your engine bay "look cleaner", then this whole autocross / competition thing probably isn't for you.
I said save wieght also lol
I didn't mean to piss off you hardcore racers with making this thread. I was just asking about the importance of abs and how i was thinking about to delete it or relocate it.
I do like autocross but I keep my car clean also. Hell yesterday I ordered $153 worth compounds to buff my car.

Pulling the fuse will disable it... see how it goes. Personally I am faster without it, I replaced mine with a bias valve a long time ago.
I will say though that the bias valve doesn't really compare to a dual master setup and I will probably move in that direction in the future.

IMO, ABS is for sure faster in the wet. If you are going to remove it, I would do my homework as I think our cars are setup with a rearward bias from the factory.
I think relying on a decent ABS system, as the one in the S, will only cover up driver mistakes. I like the idea of having a car that is 100% drivers car, and I'm sure it will eventually disappear from my car.

I'm not sure about the S2000 because i've never pulled the fuse to see the brake balance, but most new cars have far too much rear brake bias and rely on the ABS system to stop the car under control.
With more rear line pressure from a high rear bias, modern ABS systems are able to slow the car better. But this means that if you disable the ABS, the rears will lock first and that makes for a dangerous car to drive. Off the top of my head, cars with this known balance are: all new BMWs, new MX5 Miata, all new Porsches, Chevy Cobalts, and many more.
