Any recommendations on aftermarket engine mounts and/or success stories? My car is daily driven and sees 1-3 track days a month. I'm open to some extra harshness as my tolerance seems to be a tad higher than the norm, but I'm not looking to make the car feel like a full on race car, yet

I do believe the excessive wear is a result of a combination of my own driving habits (occasional hard shifting when I'm on a particularly good hot lap) and the ACT HD-SS clutch setup; I've had the clutch since the car was new. Going through mounts seems to be more common with grabbier aftermarket clutches (although the correlation may be coincidental).

Thanks guys!
Hey Mike-

After ripping my stockers several times I got fed up. But I didn't want to deal with the hassle of the 60a wearing too quickly or 75s vibrating like a solid metal mount. So I installed Megan Racing polyurethane mounts. The throttle response and throttle blipping is a MUCH more direct feeling; yet I haven't had a single wear issue so far. There IS a very minor idle vibration that I've grown to love. It's one of those things that always keeps you aware that everything is buttoned down tight.

You mind if I take your car for a spin around the pits this weekend?

How long have you had these mounts? Sounds very promising for double duty street/track cars.

I have about 5k miles on them so far. About 4 open track events and the rest is street duty... If I had a choice to go back to the stockers, I wouldn't.

Mike- Sit in my ride when idling at the BW event tomorrow. See for yourself.

Thread necromancy...

Just installed 75A on a CR.

All I can say is OMGWTFBBQ the vibration. Must be partially due to the lack of damping material in the car. The whole car vibrates like no other at idle. Even at any other RPM, the vibration is noticeable; I can feel it in the steering wheel, and it is definitely the mounts. If I clutch in while moving, the vibration in the steering wheel is correlated to the engine RPM, not vehicle speed.

I consider my tolerance for NVH to be on the extremely high side; I occasionally daily on R-comps (lots of tire whine) and J's 70RR on (mega drone; hardtop and no sound deadening material add on to it), and CANNOT handle this.

I will be going to the 60A and hope for the best, as OEM mounts just don't last for me. Or, maybe I may go Megan... O.o

@ Jon: Do you know what the durometer reading on the Megan mounts are?

I had the Innovative 95A on my CR last season and it wasn't bad at all. Only during cold starts would the high idle vibrate the front bumper and wing- I thought it was more funny that annoying. When the rules allow, engine/transmission mounts are usually one of my first modifications. I did use slightly thicker bolts going through the bushing collars as the ones supplied are just too sloppy. I also wrapped each of those bolts with teflon tape for a snug fit. Everything is just more direct and precise afterwards.

I have an ingalls etd. Only reason i even used it was because i already had the damper from my rsx. It makes a huge difference on fwd. Anyway, to me its analagous to mounts. Basically it fits the same exact description chracteristics of the 75a's. Car has more vibration on low end mostly noticeable at idle. Movement must be very restricted because shifter doesnt violently flail around. I cant help but think its helping take stress off of the engine and tranny mounts. I recommend it. Cheaper and easier to install. Weighs like a 1lb. I got the ingalls mount which doesnt get in the way of anything and takes about 15 mins to install.

The engine mounts are, barely. The trans mount must be modified to be legal. I swiss-cheesed mine and performed water displacement tests to verify.
