I believe (and others would agree) you *CAN* make a FI S2000 reliable for racing purposes. At least not more unreliable than a NA application stretched to the limits and producing similar power. It's just going to cost a mint to do it.
It's kind of a leap of faith, though, since as far as I know nobody has been able to do it yet (beyond about 300 HP or so, which the bolt-on SC kits provide).

Without divulging his numbers, Asura is making very very large turbo hp reliably. Daily driven, pump gas, etc. However, yes - it was an extremely expensive engine build. I attribute much of this to the Asura's skill and intelligence. For those of you who don't know him, he's a very smart guy and selected all components very carefully and tuned things meticulously.

Does anyone have experience autocrossing or tracking with high power N/A F20's? Seems N/A might be more reliable for the lack of boost and possibly easier to make more even power (who cares about peak hp anyway) ?

Skip, with the stroker kit and the head work, what kind of power are you expecting to make? What kind of redline are you hoping to have? I know that's all a guess though. When do you think you'll actually have it togetehr and on the dyno?

Like I said in the first post, I'm a fan of the revs...and I'd be willing to make a lot less power than FI if I could rev to 11k doing it Our race cars revved to about 14k, and boy do I miss that!

That's news to me, and if true would make it the first and only example of a reliable F-series turbo. But I also suspect that it's not exactly a "build it and forget it" motor -- betcha he's wrenching under there a few hours a week on average. Call me when he's got 30K trouble-free miles on it with nothing more than fluid changes.

Oh, and why not divulge his numbers? (Seriously.) The point being that if you want daily-driver reliability, you'd have to build something similar to existing manufacturers' turbo motors, which are making at most 150hp/L. That's 300 crank hp, a gain of maybe 50 over a simple I/H/E, at a cost north of $10K. I know one person who did just that (cbender) but even he never got it truly sorted out, and a couple months after he sold it (in frustration), the new owner blew it up.

Superchargers are more reliable, but frankly aren't that much faster since they don't make much more torque till 7K+. To make them really and truly quicker you need to go for 400ish hp, which makes them unreliable again.

He asked me not to share his dyno numbers. All I will say is he's batting in a whole other league from the numbers you mentioned. I think he's passed 10k miles without issue, but I could be off on that number.
