Heel and toe modification
Has anyone worked out a good economical and non destructive (to the car) set up to make heel and toe action easy for a person with less than size 14 shoes? If so, please e-mail me at McDave@worldnet.att.net. TIA
I'd have to agree with Chris, technique will probably be your best solution.
When I first had the car I also thought the pedals were too far from each other. I was used to a much closer pedal setup that allowed me to blip the throttle with the side of my foot. The S2000 demands I twist my ankle to the left and hit the brake with my toes and accelerator with my heel.
After a few weeks of driving I became used to it, now I don't give it a second thought.

I'm not having second thoughts on mods to the pedals. I really don't like the placement. Its not that they are too far apart, its mainly because the gas pedal is waaay back, by an inch or two as compared to the brake pedal.
When I sit in the Miata - the pedals are "perfect"-ly placed - and that's not because I've been driving that car for several years either.
I want to take a look at the pedal itself, and even see if washers or something could push the pedal up a bit.

I find the brake and the throttle pedals far enough apart that I fear slipping off the brake during heel-toe downshifting. Since I am already near max braking at that point, I would not have time to regroup and get stopped before I hit something. I drove a car once which had a small extension added to the side of the throttle pedal which made bending the ankle to give the blip really easy. I wondered if anyone has done something similar to their S2K...
i've been looking for replacement pedals for the same reason (but i have small feet). i figure i can find pedals that either offer a wider gas pedal or are undrilled, thus allowing me to position them closer.
