Switch oil!

I was going through 1 quart per fillup on mobil 1 just daily driving. Switched to Valvoline v1 and went down to half a quart per fillup. Now I run Amsoil Dominator series and I get 0 loss after 2-3 track events

top, any pics of the baffle modification? is it drilling holes in the splash shield?

alright, i'll go ap2 valvecover with a twin catchcan setup, non vented.

I guess i'll give the snake oil a shot. idk why, but i always relate to it as some amway shit. Cant get it in stores, gotta know a guy who knows a guy who has a f@#king retail store in his basement. BUT at this point it cant be any worse than the vaperware i've got

I had this issue. I beleive i solved it. I have a 04/05 valve cover that i modified. I disasembled it and drilled holes in the baffle plate inside the cover. I would be willing to sell it to you. Doing this will greatly reduce the oil coming out of the valve cover. This will not change anything if your guides/rings are worn. It will only greatly reduce the amount of fluid coming out of the cover.

Yeah, drilling the valve cover baffle to allow better drainage was the solution for me and several other people in our region who made the same modification. Make sure you get ALL the shavings out of there!

I have a few. But here is the main one. This is not my picture, just what I used as reference.

After doing this, I accumulated about a 10 fluid ounces of oil in my catch can after 7 25 minute sessions over two days at road america. This was with my canton oil pan and my thermostat controlled canton oil cooler as well.

I had issues at blackhawk farms a month before road america. I overfilled my catchcan after 2 laps. I had an unmodified valve cover and a low capacity catch can at the time. I should also mention BHF Ive always had issues with oil escaping. I have yet to go back to BHF after the VC mod, but if I did I would not be scared to do so.

my car is na, but in theory it should get worse with boost / suspension / good driver *i'm putting down over 2g's consistently around certain turns on my stock suspension.

Just got back from Billman, the test results are in
Compression is even across the board at 215
Leak down was 1% in cylinders 1 and 3
1.5% in cylinder 2
and 3% in cylinder 4
(i'm a firm believer in frequent oil changes)

I'm going to install a baffle in my oilpan or try and confuse the oil to stay baffled, then get an ap2 valve cover and drill a few holes, add a pair of moroso catchcans. I'll update the thread once i install everything and take it out to the track

For the record, my car doesnt smoke while drifting or autocrossing. It only happens on certain turns on the track and once in a blue on the street.

does anyone know if the canton pan still leaves the flywheel exposed?

the pcv system is basically to create vacuum to seal the rings. By capping it, you may be damaging your piston rings.
