Default How tall is too tall for HD rollbar

I am 6' 1'' and 195 lbs, and now thinking about installing the HD rollbar with Single diaganol bar. I assume the best way for me to fit into the car will be to get a racing seat with the lowest poss. rail assembly. Every time I see pic. of cars with rollover protection it looks like the seat is a good 4-5 inches forward. I have mine back all the way now. I am conerned with my driving position if I proceed. I want to make my S2000 a dedicated track car but have not seen one at an HPDE that has this set up and will allow me to sit in it and confirm I fit. Anybody out there my size and has Hard dog set up? Help!

I have 5'11" and I have my seat on the driver floor pan. I use a Sparco Evo 2 (or L). I have about 5-6 " of clearance to the stripped hardtop without a helmet.

If I used an AL shell seat (UltraShield for example), I would be at least 1" lower.

It will take a custom made seat mount to get you this low. I don't have a slider so no adjustments.

So it depends on how long your upper body is, vers your lower body to know for sure.

I don't have back plastic panels in my car anymore so it's hard to tell how far the seats are forward. But they're definitely not all the way back. 4-5" forward probably a good estimate.

if this is going to be a dedicated track car, a better option might be to get a custom bar that's welded farther back, but still at optimal angles. the hard dog was made to fit with the soft top.

Also bear in mind that you don't need to sit as far back with a racing seat... I know I sit quite a bit closer in my racing seat than I ever did in the stock seat, PS im 6'1" also

I'm 6'2" and I clear it easy in solid buckets with no slouching. The seat does go forward some, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It's comfortable.

We had the Hard Dog roll hoop for stripped interior in my s2000 until recent. I had the signal diagonal as well. Im about 6ft2 and i sit all the way back. no problems fiting my recaro pole position and my head clears the "broomstick" test. Feel free to PM or email me any questions as we are a Hard dog dealer as well.

Anyone know if Bethania will make the Hard Dog bar a little taller for those of us that are a) not concerned with soft top clearance and b) have aftermarket hard top with no headliner?
