Kumho V700's Rule!!!
Had my first AutoX today on race rubber and all I can say is WOW!!!
This is gonna be fun!!!

Raced in Chattanooga with several East Tennessee Region members. I think most of use had a great time!
My first 3 uns were in the pouring rain...not exactly what I would call ideal for getting to know the new tires but I was still amazed at the amout of grip even in the wet. Fortunately I ordered the tires with full tread so I'm sure that helped.
My first 3 runs were all within a second of each other mid 39.x's to mid 40.x's. We got two additional runs later in the afternoon and thats when the real fun began. By that time the track had dried and although the surface was rough in some areas I really got to experience the power of the Kumho's. These babies just stick!
I knocked 2 seconds off on my first run 37.5 and turned a 36.9 on my last.
Today was by far the most fun I've had AutoXing yet! I won AS finishing ahead of 8 other drivers. 2nd place was a White MR2 driven by a fellow by the name of Jim Thompson I believe.
Can't wait till the SouthEastern Divisional in two weeks. Maybe I'll see some of you there

Congrats Mack!
With results like that maybe you shouldn't visit my region!
I think you started autoXing the right way by learning the car on street tires. The first runs on race rubber really are eye openers.

Congrats, Mack... as if you weren't hooked before!
It's really a different animal on race tires. Good job beating Jim Thompson... that car (with his son driving) was last year's ProSolo champion in AS. His son usually drives 1.5-2 seconds per course faster for comparison's sake.
Good job! Let's see those results if they get posted.
BTW... Rob Carpenter made the trek from your neck of the woods to our CenDiv event at Peru, IN and took 1st in ES and 3rd on Index overall out of 232 competitors. Who was first overall you ask?

Thanks for the Kudos guys.
Great to hear Rob did so well. It's nice to see our region represented in a big way!
I'm waiting on those offical results myself......I missed the "awards presentation" 'cause I was putting the tires back on the car.......hey maybe it was his son
It was a two driver car.
I'll post a link here when they're available.
Congrats on your victory to Jason!!!

Aye, I can certainly emphathize with that feeling, Mack. After my first decent (non-Arctic) autox on race rubber after running street tire all last year, I finished the run with a "huh-huh-huh-huh" burbling in the back of my brain. It was such a difference, and I went faster everywhere!
Way cool, huh-huh-huh-huh

Mack,
Glad to hear about your driving experience. I've received my Kumho's and i've ordered the mugen sway bar. next autox in the houston area is june 24, and i'll be running then. if i can perform at only half your level, i'll be a happy man.
