Default Mounting ballast weight

Apparently I went a little overboard when I was stripping the car. Right now to meet my minimum weight requirement for NASA Time Trials, I need 20Lbs of ballast and a full tank of gas. 20lbs really isn't a lot but I'll probably want to run more depending on my fuel level.

Anyone have any suggestions or creative solutions? Or is the obvious answer (weight lifting plates in the passenger footwell) the right one?

If I were in your position I'd bolt a suitable steel plate to the frame, under the CG of the car and offset to the passenger side (which is probably right under the passenger seat, I'd guess).

If I my plans for the SCCA runoffs at Laguna come together I'll be needing to ballast well over 100lbs into the car. Check out the SCCA GGR rules for ballasting. They'll explain how to do it safely.

Roger that.

There was a gentleman here selling his AP1 race car (maybe speedengineer?) I forget the name. But he indicated he had a ballast setup similar to that, where ballast could be removed/added easily via being bolted to the underside of the car underneath the passenger side seat area.

Can you use a four wheel scale and even out the weight on all four corners?

I made these for my TTC setup. The steel tubes are filled with lead, and they weigh 37.5 lbs each, so the 4 of them are 150lbs total. I also had another 60lbs or so bolted in the trunk.

It's probably easier than it looks, but I don't knkow if I can make that on my own. Want to make and sell some to me?
