better contact patch on the ground in turns.
it makes the tire touch more.

This is a example of what I mean.
in this turn if I had 0 camber the tire would be touching on the outside and not the inside, But with 4 deg of camber it makes the whole tire touch the ground.

(we are talking about the right front tire)

in this picture you can see how the inside tire (right front) is hardly touching.
that is because the camber is so much...also if you look at the outside tire (left front) you can see how stuffed it is in the wheel well and all of it is touching.

End Lesson.

I know this is the R & C forum but there are more valuable opinions here:

What are the pros and cons of having excessive negative camber on a dialy driven s2000?

Increased cornering ability but poorer braking?

Excess camber = less tire for braking, excessive wear of inside of tire, faster wear of bearings (at least in rear), and on the street you probably won't do enough lateral G's to benefit in the corners. Probably better in heavy rain though .
BTW my street car is still -3 front from when I used to track it 2-3 years ago... looks a little weird.

I thought this was a myth? Isnt excessive toe what causes increased inner tire wear?
