Well I ran my first SCCA autox in the S2K on Sunday. I have been autoxing for almost 2 seasons now and am a decent driver with a lot to learn still. My autox car is a toyota celica and the injectors are blown along with the front coilovers. I just got my S about 3 weeks ago and decided to take it and run it just for fun. The car is completely stock including the tires. Going from FWD mode to RWD mode took me about 3 laps but after that my times started improving. First run I was just trying to get a feel for the car, second run I spun out, third run I spun out, fourth run was clean but I knew the car should be much faster, fifth run was my best and the only other car on street tires in my class was a Porsche Boxster, I beat him by .4, I had a passenger every lap so I would say if no passenger I beat him by .7 I dont know if I should even be comparing myself but it was fun. The S sure is a tail happy car. Looks like no matter what class I go into I will have to run race tires. After I get a clutch I'm going to invest in a set of rims and race tires. Would you guys say invest in suspension parts?? Basically I want intake, header back exhaust then lots of suspension stuff. I'm open for suggestions. tx,

If you are really serious about autocross, prep the car for stock class. It is competitive in AS and is a blast to autocross without spending a ton on parts. I've trophied at a National Tour and Divisionals on stock shocks and exhaust.

Did someone mention that you should read the auto-x sticky? You should.

Don't buy any parts for it yet. It takes a little while to get used to the S coming from a front wheel drive car but once you do you'll love it. If you are competitive by nature, and it looks like you are, you'll definately not want to buy any bolt on crap for the car.

Give it an alignment and them some seat time. Next, get a stiff front sway bar and some race tires. That should keep you going for a long time.

Let's just hope the car doesn't get phased out soon.
